I just finished a 8.614km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:35ss !
I don't run two days in a row very often, but I wanted to take advantage of the perfect running weather today: cold and sunny. I completely failed though because I started after the sun was already set. As you can see on the cover picture, it wasn't completely dark, but clearly no sunshine left. At least, I wasn't surprised by the deceiving sun this time, and I started right away with my gloves on. Still no music though, as my earbuds are still not charged somewhere in my unpacked luggage...
I also wanted to rack up some miles as for various reasons, my total for February was way too low. By the way, I checked my stats for February and although I ran half the January distance, elevation was double. Definitely different running while in France compared to the flat Michigan runs. Anyways, increasing mileage always poses the risk of overdoing it. That's why I never pushed myself too much today. And even though I felt quite lighter than yesterday (confirmed by the scale this morning), my average pace was only about 5 seconds/mile faster than yesterday. Around 7:25min/mile, still on the medium-to-slow side compared to where I want to be, but the way my training has been the past couple of months, this isn't too bad.
Basically, the same route as yesterday, without a couple of loops. I'm pretty sure I had enough fuel in the tank to run them, but it was getting very dark by the end. And my legs did feel sore from yesterday, particularly the hamstrings. If I was warming up and cooling down like I should, that probably wouldn't happen. Maybe one day, I will finally manage to be more disciplined with stretching and all that...
Tomorrow, still with plenty of sunshine in the forecast, I might try and go for a third running day. If I do, I will try and keep it easy, because like I said, it can be quick to overdo it and get yourself an injury.
Keep Exhausting!
