I just finished a 10.269km running that lasted about 0hh:44mm:56ss !
Hey everybody, @exhaust is back, yay!! Thanks a lot for making it happen.
It must mean I am getting old, but there's always something bothering me these days. Today it was a very sharp pain in my back, but I decided to go running anyways. And it was a good decision, because it faded away very early in my run, and now about 4 hours after my run, I still feel no pain. Maybe I just needed to loosen up some things in my back, and the running effort did it. Aside from the back, I felt pretty good compared to Sunday.
Conditions were also very different: barely any wind, and much warmer, almost 30 degrees difference (well, 15 degrees for pretty much everybody in the world using normal Celsius).
Since I went for an early morning long walk with the dogs, I skipped my usual warm up walk and went directly for my run. Smart, but not enough, as it was still too late to explore new routes before nightfall. At least, I could go on one of my usual loops, I always prefer running on a loop, instead of turning back at some point, and retrace my steps. And I only ran a few minutes in darkness at the end.
The fact I felt better is clearly visible in my first 3 mile splits, well under 7min/mile. But after that, I got tired and there's a significant decrease in pace. With a second wind near the end, I picked it up again during the last half mile. In the end, I reached 10k just under 44minutes, at that point of my training, I will for sure consider it a good run.
Cadence did not change much, but it was back to 172spm, slightly closer to the target for that pace. I actually tried to reduce my stride length somewhere before mile 2, but I had to focus so much on it, that everything else including my breathing was getting messy. So I quickly went back to what feels natural. I will try again next time, a little bit every run and maybe that will finally get better.
Thanks for stopping by and keep Exhausting!
