Hey Actifitters,
To finish the month, we didn't have anything special planned, except some dreaded yard work. But we had other priorities first, like playing in the yard with Kaia. She's still as goofy as ever!
Le Chat simply observed. This might look like a disapprobation look, but like I said in the past, I think it's more a 'why does she keep moving for no reason?...' look.
Because I still didn't want to start the yard work, we started our daily walk behind the front yard.
Kaia and Le Chat had a little time to explore and have fun.
Then we went to the forest of course. On a day like that, some sun but kind of cool, we could not skip it.
Kaia was like 'there is something close, I can feel it'....
And she was right, a bunch of deer was just there, also enjoying this nice day.
Of course, when she finally saw them, chaos ensued...
As often on weekends, we have more time and can visit all areas of the forest, including where the teepees are.
Or follow all the jungle-looking trails.
It's very rare to find deer near this clearing, but I saw this one first and quickly put the leash back on Kaia. It took her some time, but she finally saw it too.
She did chase a few other critters after that, especially squirrels. Surprisingly she doesn't seem to react much to chipmunks. I'm sure she can catch their scent but she just doesn't go after them. I guess she knows she has no chance of catching them.
Day or night, when we get to that final trail, Kaia knows it's most likely one of our last loops in the forest and she takes the lead out of the forest.
Not without one last good bye to the deer. I tried to frame the photo so it looked like a 2-headed deer but it wasn't really successful.
Back at home, I needed a little liquid courage before getting started with the yard work. No, not booze, espressos!
It seems Kaia still had some energy left and found a tennis ball to play with. She could hear the neighbors working on their own yard though and she switched to guard dog mode immediately.
Le Chat was definitely not in that mode, she almost fell over while sitting on the deck...
And finally came the yard work. I only had enough time to finish mowing the front yard. But at least I took care of many of the small areas details I often skipped. I missed the sunset, but at least the front yard was ready, and that's what counts for the city, they can't really see if the backyard is still a mess. That gives me time to finish it Sunday, or maybe next week end.
Once again, yard work brought me lots of steps, more than enough to get over the bar for #poprzeczka. Like I was hoping, I completed the month, let's see if I can continue a few more days now.
