Some cats like "uncle" Larry get special treatment. Being fed the rest of his breakfast or dinner on the porch. Away from the sharks, Mommy & Dexter, who can never get enough to eat. They make Larry uncomfortable in the main dining area.
My life would be much easier without the cats but then I would be complaining about nothing to do...
