Splinrerlands SALTWRAITH BULKHEAD | A melee monster with deadly attack
Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,
Welcome back to another fresh and juicy Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing absolutely great in your lives and enjoying another calm and peaceful day with your family and friends. If you are continuing your daily journey in splinterlands just like me, then I hope your ranked and frontier battles have been going smoothly, and that you are also participating in the brawls and tournaments and that you are steadily climbing the trophy ladder while collecting some valuable rewards along the way. If we take a quick peek, the current ranked season still has around 5 days and a few minutes remaining, so there is still enough time to keep grinding and work toward your season goals. Whether you are trying to reach a particular trophy milestone and improve your rewards, simply enjoy some good battles or trying to push for a seat in the glorious top champion leaderboard, I wish all of you the very best for the remaining days of the season.
Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode of this agme, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league with my current trophy count. My goal for this season is to reach 3,560 trophies, and with around 5 days remaining, I still have some time to work toward that target. Looking at the weekly raffle progress, I currently have 21 raffle entries collected. There are around 4 days and 21 hours remaining before the raffle ends, and I am aiming for the same as ususl - 54 and 57 entries this time.
Today's Frontier Daily Wheel also brought another nice addition to my Sparks collection. This is now my 114th consecutive daily streak, and I received 1,000 + 250 Sparks today, bringing my total Sparks balance to 29,592. I am getting closer and closer to the 30K mark, so hopefully I can cross that milestone soon.
Apart from that, today I also opened 7 Foundation Packs that I earned from the last three days' rewards. This time, I managed to get 2 Gold Foil Rare Archons, along with another 9 Rare cards including 2 Archons. I also received 1 Gold Foil Common card, while the remaining cards were regular Common cards. The two Gold Foil Rare Archons were definitely the highlight of today's pack opening, needless to say, I am quite happy with the results.
Saltwraith Bulkhead
Now moving on to today's main topic, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today we will be discussing the Saltwraith Bulkhead. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this card, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.
The Saltwraith Bulkhead is a monster type card that was first seen in the game with the launch of the newest Reward card set. This monster belongs to the Life element and comes from the Tideborn bloodline. It is a Rare monster card, so you would require a total of 115 cc cards to upgrade it to max level. It costs 7 mana to deploy, so you may fit this card in your lineup when playing medium to high mana limit matches. It uses Melee attacks and comes with a very impressive combination of defensive statistics and offensive power. At maximum level, this monster possesses four different abilities, giving it a mixture of durability, additional damage, and healing. Let us now take a closer look at its stats and abilities across different leagues.
BRONZE
At Level 2, Saltwraith Bulkhead possesses 4 Melee attack, 4 Speed, 6 Armor, and 9 Health. Even at its initial level, it already gains its first ability called WEARY.
WEARY – At the beginning of round 1, Weary units have a 10% chance to become Exhausted. This chance increases by 10% every round up to a maximum of 80%. Exhausted units skip their turn and cannot retaliate.
SILVER
At Level 4, Saltwraith Bulkhead improves to 5 Melee attack while maintaining 4 Speed, 6 Armor, and 9 Health. At this level, it unlocks another useful ability called OPPRESS.
OPPRESS – Deals double damage to no-attack targets, even those with Weapons Training.
GOLD
At Level 6, Saltwraith Bulkhead maintains 5 Melee attack and 4 Speed while its Armor remains at 6 and Health increases to 10. At this stage, it unlocks ARMOR STRIKE, giving it another way to turn its defensive Armor into additional offensive power.
ARMOR STRIKE – If armored, gains a Melee attack that deals damage equal to remaining Armor.
DIAMOND / CHAMPION
At Level 8, Saltwraith Bulkhead reaches its maximum form with 6 Melee attack, 4 Speed, 6 Armor, and 11 Health. At maximum level, it unlocks its final ability called HEAL.
HEAL – Each round, restores 1/3rd of the monster's maximum Health, rounded down.
I think Saltwraith Bulkhead is an amazing melee monster because it combines extremely strong defensive statistics with serious offensive power. Just look at its Armor and Health combination, especially at maximum level. With 6 Armor and 11 Health, this monster can survive multiple powerful attacks before finally going down. On top of that, it reaches 6 Melee attack while maintaining a respectable 4 Speed, making it a dangerous attacker as well. However, the first ability, Weary, means you need to use this monster carefully. As the rounds continue, the chance of becoming Exhausted increases, and an Exhausted unit will skip its turn and cannot retaliate. Then we have Oppress, which makes Saltwraith Bulkhead particularly useful against monsters that have no attack power. It deals double damage to those targets, even if they receive an attack through Weapons Training. The Armor Strike ability is another fantastic addition because it allows the monster to convert its remaining Armor into an additional Melee attack. This makes protecting its Armor even more important, as keeping that Armor intact can significantly increase its offensive potential. Finally, Heal makes this already durable monster even harder to eliminate by restoring one-third of its maximum Health every round. Overall, if you can manage that weakness properly, I think Saltwraith Bulkhead can be a very powerful defensive attacker that becomes increasingly difficult for the enemy to bring down.
