Hello Splinterlands card collectors and welcome back to my blog!
I have maxed my regular Frontier card collection a long time ago. When I say regular this means except for the extras that can be won in the jackpot and the Arena Vanguards. Now, I'm aiming to increase my gold foil collection of at least the common and rare cards. I also have some black foils and gold foil variants in my collection but that's a topic for another post.
My Recent Purchases
My recent purchases in the month of August were all common cards that I frequently use in my battles. They are tanks, off tanks and Taunt unit. There are also range damage dealers. The only rare card I bought was Time Bandit who I also use in the Modern Mode when the ruleset is Noxious Fumes.
My Gold Foil Collection
Common Cards
Except for the Spinetail Fiend, I use all these cards regularly in my battles. Especially the tanks and offtanks with Reach ability. I also frequently use New Beluroc Aegis since Taunt is my bread and butter strategy.
Rare Cards
For the rare cards, I frequently use all except for Frostguard Warrior. The two archons Marlai Singariel and Thalgrimore as well as Time Bandit are also used frequently in the Modern mode and gives me a boost in my SPS rewards. I'm planning to buy more gold foil archons and also the epic and legendary cards if I find a good deal in the market.
Final Thoughts
The gold foils don't really give me any battle or reward advantage in the Frontier but as a card collector, it's nice to have the gold foil variants compared to the regular ones. The gold foils do give me a reward boost if I use them in Modern mode so I'm on the lookout for gold foils that are useful in Modern like Time Bandit and the archons. It's part of the fun in playing Splinterlands, seeing my gold foil collection grow and perhaps even my ultra rare variants cards. I'll be on the hunting in the market to catch some good deals.
