I wrote a post with the same title, except then I was walking around in Lagos, some time ago. Well, during my vacation in Portugal I also had the opportunity to walk around in Porto. I like to use this title because that was mainly what I was doing, I didn't really have the energy to do much sightseeing and Porto was crazy busy with tourists everywhere (even hard to get a table at a restaurant).

First I spent 2 nights in Porto after a dance festival I went to in the Algarve, if you are interested you can read more about that experience here. I visited Porto because my next retreat was about one hour outside of Porto, a plant medicine retreat (I also plan to write about that experience). And after that gathering, I returned to Porto for 3 nights to recover, before making the journey back to Lisbon. So this post actually consists of more than one walk in Porto. I hope it'll not be too confusing 馃檪

1st walk in Porto

The 4 pictures below are from my first exploration of Porto. I was tired after the intense dance festival and the rather long journey I had made to get to Porto afterward. It started to get hot outside (over 30 degrees Celsius) and my body was also fighting some kind of mild infection. I didn't have the energy to stay out the whole day. The first 3 pictures were taken close to Porto Cathedral (which I don't really have a good picture of...).

The picture below is not really from my walk, it's the view from my balcony for the night. I enjoyed a very nice sunset there so I had to include it here 馃檪 (sorry!)

2nd walk in Porto

This walk took place after I had returned to Porto again after the plant medicine gathering. This was my last day in Porto (the previous days I had been too tired to go outside, something that is kind of normal after 2 intense plant medicine journeys). But I felt I kind of 'had to' see a bit more of Porto. But it was hot now, nearly 40 degrees Celsius. But I can deal with heat pretty well actually. It was more my stomach that was a challenge. It had been upset since the plant medicine (no surprise to me).

There was also some nice street art, even though I don't think I managed to spot most of it.

I was happy to find a park.

These sculptures were interesting. They had a couple of similar ones in that park.

The park was on the way to a tea house that I was curious about (Rota Do Ch谩). I really liked how it was decorated and how quiet it was when I visited (they also had a garden that was busier but only tables in the sun were available and that was just too hot at the time). They had a lot of teas to choose from but unfortunately not any herbal ones. And nothing vegan on the menu. (Luckily I had already had lunch).

This was on my way back to my hotel (actually the only night I spent in a hotel so I wanted to take advantage of the increased comfort level as much as possible).

3rd walk in Porto

After I had rested for a while in my room I went out again to cross one of the bridges to Gaia (which is actually not a part of Porto but it's the best place to be if you actually want to have a view of Porto).

Crossing the bridge Ponte Infante Dom Henrique (Gaia on the other side).

Here I'm crossing the bridge (Luis I Bridge) seen in the 3 pictures above, on my way back from Gaia. And you can now see the first bridge I crossed in this picture 馃檪

This was about it from Porto. The next day I was off to Lisbon for my last 2 nights in Portugal.
