It's been rather challenging lately but I do my best to get out for a daily walk. The weather hasn't really changed much in what kind of feels like forever...it's still cold but last weekend it was sunny and warm enough to not wear gloves for the first time this year 馃檪
What always happens here though is that people get a bit crazy and all of a sudden everyone is out enjoying the sun. That frenzied energy usually makes me rather anxious and I almost prefer to stay indoors. But well, I went out for a longish walk last Sunday and did my best not to get so affected by the energy.

I continued to walk along the water and even though it doesn't really show in this picture there is a beach to the left. We have many places where you can swim in the city center. I actually saw some people going for a swim (yes it's popular to swim also in the winter here but that's not for me).
It was nice to see some signs that spring is on its way 馃檪
I actually live quite close to the Russian Embassy (about 1 kilometer) but it's in the 'wrong' direction so I don't pass by often. As I came closer I noticed a lot of blue and yellow balloons hanging from the trees and there was also a couple of police cars. I also realized a demonstration had just ended. (The police cars drove away during the time I spent here).
I could have taken a picture of the embassy but you can't really see much anyway, a high fence surrounds the building.
What can I say. Strange times indeed. A lot of people are scared here and it's more or less the only thing you hear on the news. I don't know, I tend to worry a lot about all kinds of small things. But when it comes to these kinds of things, I feel rather blocked. It still feels unreal to me. Maybe I'm simply too self-absorbed. I feel a bit bad about this in a way but at the same time I actually think it's good that I don't worry about a potential Russian invasion.
But well, now there is a debate here whether or not Sweden should join NATO. And we will spend more money on our military. Actually 2 percent of GDP (which is a requirement for NATO members). It seems this will be a hot topic in the upcoming election here later this year.
These are just some reflections, nowadays I want to stay far away from politics. But yes, I have been watching the news lately. Like once a day more or less. And this is not something I usually do. So I guess it has affected me somehow after all. What is going on I mean.
It was nice to experience the warm weather (around 13 degrees Celsius) during this walk. I do like the summer in Sweden but I hope not to spend it in Stockholm. There's still time to come up with some plans 馃檪
