En mi vida he visitado algunos zool贸gicos, sobre todo en Venezuela, y la primera vez que visito uno en Argentina, que ahora es llamado Ecoparque, me dio la grata sorpresa de poder disfrutar tambi茅n de un poco de arte durante el recorrido, gracias a la presencia de algunas esculturas, que son r茅plicas de obras conocidas, y que adem谩s no solo est谩n ah铆, sino que brindan informaci贸n sobre las versiones originales.
De entrada vemos un busto de Domingo Sarmiento, quien fuera el fundador del zool贸gico en 1874, y a quien adem谩s de ello, se le recuerda por su obra en pro de la construcci贸n de la naci贸n.
Mientras m谩s nos adentr谩bamos a las instalaciones, los sentimientos resultaban encontrados: por una parte, mi hijo quer铆a disfrutar del paseo y ver los animales, einteractuar con los animatr贸nicos, y por mi parte, los ojos se me iban hacia las edificaciones y las r茅plicas. En alg煤n punto tuvimos que negociar: primero los animales y luego lo que yo deseaba ver.
La r茅plica de Baco, el dios de la fertilidad y el vino, fue la que le llam贸 la atenci贸n a mi peque帽o, y me activ贸 a mi el esp铆ritu docente, empezando por hablarle de su af谩n por las fiestas y la buena vida, dando origen a las bacanales, que no eran m谩s que grandes fiestas desmedidas, en las que por supuesto el sexo estaba presente, y con ello, la fertilidad tambi茅n era invitada.
Una fuente custodiada por dos estatuas, llamada Fuente Anchorena, en honor a la familia que don贸 el monumento, es motivo para acercarse y disfrutar del sonido del agua cayendo, aunque muchos aprovechan para refrescarse un poco.
Un detalle que me gust贸 bastante, es que la ubicaci贸n de las estatuas no siguen un patr贸n, por lo que hay que estar atentos para descubrirlas entre el follaje de los 谩rboles, o alguna esquina entre otras se帽ales. Es como un juego del escondite, en el que solo los conocedores podr谩n descubrir quienes son los que se esconden.
Definitivamente, espacios como estos, en los que brindan espacios al arte para el deleite de todos, sin necesidad de ir a un museo, me resultan ideales para salir a disfrutar con mis hijos, ya que me dan pie para hablarles sobre aspectos de cultura e historia, fuera de un 谩mbito acad茅mico, lo cual ellos disfrutan mucho m谩s.

The replica of Bacchus, the god of fertility and wine, caught the attention of my little one, and sparked my teaching spirit, starting by telling him about his penchant for parties and the good life, giving rise to the bacchanals, which were nothing more than great excessive parties, in which of course sex was present, and with it, fertility was also invited.
A fountain guarded by two statues, called Anchorena Fountain, in honor of the family that donated the monument, is reason to approach and enjoy the sound of the falling water, although many take the opportunity to cool off a bit.
One detail that I really liked is that the location of the statues does not follow a pattern, so you have to be alert to discover them among the foliage of the trees, or a corner among other signs. It's like a game of hide and seek, where only those in the know can discover who is hiding.
Definitely, spaces like these, that provide room for art to delight everyone, without the need to go to a museum, are ideal for going out to enjoy with my children, as they give me the opportunity to talk to them about aspects of culture and history, beyond an academic setting, which they enjoy much more.
