Hello everybody! This is my first participation in this community, which I read but did not dare to enter, since I have no garden or plants at home.

But it has not always been like that. In my home country (Venezuela) I had a small garden in front of my house, which was guarded by the father of my children, while I took care of the backyard, where I dedicated myself to planting fruit and edible plants. That was the deal between us.

When I sold my house so I could emigrate, it was one of the things that hurt the most to leave behind.

I still miss being able to go out of the house to pick a little plant to spice up my food or fruit to make juice. My children would snack on papaya (lechosa) or some dessert with parchita (passion fruit) that they would pick themselves from the bushes that were in the background.

Now, living from rental to rental, I have not been anxious to have plants at home, although the idea of starting a collection of mini-cactus and succulents is on my mind.

In the meantime, I spend my time contemplating the beauty of my neighbors' gardens on my commute from home to work, and really, I've realized that sometimes by rushing around, we miss out on all the beauty that surrounds us.

Buenos Aires being a very humid city, lilies grow wonderfully! And even ferns grow in the least expected places, taking advantage of the weather.

And just at this time of change of season, you can see how buds begin to appear in every house, and the flowers already enjoy the little sun that appears more often than in the cold days of winter.

Many of these plants were born on their own according to their owners, who decided not to cut them, but to give them the opportunity to decorate their gardens by dressing them in color.

Many others, lovers of ornamental plants, have arranged pots of colors that contrast with those of the flowers that live in them.

There are even cases like these little flowers, which were born in the security fence of an abandoned house, which was not an impediment to bloom in the middle of nowhere.

That is the beauty of nature, that despite the actions of humans, it never ceases to impress us with its strength to be noticed, either in a peaceful way like this one, or acting aggressively.

And meanwhile, those of us who do not have the time or the hobby to create and take care of a garden, can enjoy the colorfulness they give us, even though in many cases we ignore it, as it happened to me.

Now I see with more attention and I am excited to see how what yesterday was just a bud, is now a beautiful flower in all its expression.
