Hello my fellow steemians!
Today I am providing the documentation of building an extension plug for the Sol-Ark system that will allow a 3kW generator set to top off the trailer battery bank in times of little or no sunlight.
I began this project by cutting the insulation back from a 8' 30amp 12gage wire bundle @ 3" from the end.
After the main insulation was cut and removed from the end wire strippers were used to remove the insulation from the hot neutral and ground wires.
The insulation was stripped back .5"
The back of the female plug assembly was pushed onto the wire first at the wires were inserted into the back of the plug assembly.
The three Philips head screws were tightened down on the wires to make a secure connection.
This process was repeated for the male plug.
Here is the plug connected to an outdoor enclosure that connects to the male 30amp plug for the Sol-Ark system.
Thank you for your time if you gave this a read!
