HOW TO MAKE SALT ?
Hy guys for this chance i want to share for you about make a salt
Indonesia as a maritime country, obviously has a lot of natural wealth. However, all marine natural resources in Indonesia, not optimal and optimal management.
A very simple example is the natural wealth of the sea water itself.
Although Indonesia is Indonesia is a maritime country, but there are still people who get mumps, this disease occurs due to lack of iodine. Although not many. Iodine itself is usually found in salt content.
Therefore, on this occasion we will discuss simply making pure salt from seawater.
Decreased production of salt these days makes salt scarce and the price increases in the market.
In fact, salt is one source of nutrients that are important for health. Then to overcome the scarcity of salt, can we make salt ourselves?
Understand the process. Commercial salt makers produce sea salt on a much larger scale than home based salt makers, but knowing commercial techniques can improve your knowledge and how your salt is made. Here's how they do it:
the first method
Make Sea Salt from Scratch
The small pool is filled with sea water and the water is allowed to evaporate. The only product left after all the water is lost is sea salt. This process will work better in areas where there is plenty of sun and less rain.
Salt water is supplied to large steel pans. Any mud or dirt will be deposited at the bottom and the remaining water will be sucked and heated. When the water is heated, the formed foam will be removed from the water and the water will continue to evaporate until only the salt crystals remain.
Usually additive additives will be added. Commercial marine salt makers usually add calcium and magnesium to their salt to nourish and taste different.
Collect salt water. Salt-rich water is collected from salt-rich saltwater or salt pools. Depending on where the water is drawn, the resulting salt will take a variety of colors based on the mineral variations present in each location. Collecting water from the ocean will not salt the quality you expect, especially for cooking purposes, because the water salinity is low, but it's useful to experiment with water from various sources to find out which ones produce the best salt.
It is important to collect salt water from a clean source. If you know which areas are polluted, do not collect water from there. Air pollution, waste oil and chemicals, and other types of pollution will affect the taste and quality of salt.
If an area is safe for fishing, it may also be safe to assume that the water is clean enough for salt harvest.
A gallon of glass or plastic jug is a good size to collect water. One gallon of water will produce about 3 ounces of salt.
Filter the water. This process is necessary to remove sand, shellfish and other marine sediments from the water before you harvest salt. Use a thin cotton cloth to filter salt from water. Can also use one or more layers. To make sure the waste is wasted, strain the water several times. This will not affect the salt content.
Let the water evaporate. Sea salt is a product that will not disappear from the evaporation of brines. Plan the evaporation process for at least several days, and usually several weeks. For the manufacture of sea salt at home, you can use one of several techniques.
Turn your oven on the lowest place. Pour water into a container with a high side and put it in the oven. Let the water slowly evaporate for several days. [1]
Put the filter salt into the pan and boil until all the water is gone. Let the sunlight help the process. Take the wet salt from the pan and place it on a plate or bowl. Let in the sun evaporate all remaining water.
Place your filter water in a shallow bowl or plate and leave it to remain in the open so the water can evaporate. What remains when all the water has been lost is sea salt. This can take several weeks.
Salt harvest left behind. You will see the crust that begins to form when the water evaporates. Use a spoon to scrape it off the container. The salt crystals will turn into different shapes and sizes, and will have different colors based on where you take water.
You can choose to grind it into a smoother texture. You can use a salt grinder to do it.
Enjoy salt by tasting it without adding anything or using it on your daily cooking
Second Method
Making Seasoned Sea Salt
Make lemon salt.
Salt can be combined with a variety of flavors, and lemon is one of the best. Salt and citrus are combined to produce spices that you can use on each dish. This refreshing salt will be perfect if sprinkled on fresh vegetables, salads and fish:
- itemMix ½ cup sea salt, ½ cup lemon juice and
- grated from 1 lemon into a bowl.
- Spread the mixture on the baking sheet.
- Bake in an oven with the lowest setting until moisture evaporates, several hours or overnight.
- Scrape the lemon salt into the container.
Make bourbon salt.
When the saltiness and sweetness are combined, it will be very tempting. [2] In this case sea salt is mixed with bourbon and sugar syrup to produce a rich and delicious salt taste that you can sprinkle on your grilled entree.
Bring 1 cup of bourbon to a pan over medium heat until it is reduced to about ¼ cup.
Combine reduced bourbon size, ½ cup of sea salt and ½ cup of sugar into the food processor, continue to texture like sand.
Spread the mixture into the pan.
Bake in an oven with the lowest setting until moisture evaporates, several hours or overnight.
Make smoked salt.
Next time you want to prepare a fire to smoke a meat, place a tray of salt in it too. Let the sea salt to smoke on the burn for several hours, then pour it into the container.
