I recently applied for a job, but on the application I didnt fill out the emergency contact.
I completed the rest of the form and handed it back to her.
She read through all my credentials and stopped when she noticed the missing phone number.
She handed it back to me and said "You need to leave an emergency contact phone number"
I asked her "why?"
She said, "well, what happens if you get hurt at work? Who should we call?"
I said "Someone should call an ambulance"
She said "Right, ok, well who should we call in case you die at work?"
I said "Oh, thats easy, should call the morgue"
She says to me "Yes. Of course. But we need to contact someone who has your best interests at heart"
I said "You seem pretty worried about me, what is your phone number?"
Two days later, they called me back, and offered me a job.
I have no idea why.
