It seems to me that people have never been as angry as they are now. This year, they say, is the year of karma, the boomerang returns very quickly, and bad wishes turn into good.
Anyway, so much accumulated during my life; people do me some bad things, and sometimes I do them too. But I would never attack anyone just out of jealousy. Somehow, I don't even have it pathologically, but if someone harmed me, I sometimes responded in the same way. But it happens only if a person does something particularly bad to me. I have such a character that I get very angry, but I let it go very quickly, and then, I'm too lazy to react somehow. Sometimes it even seems simpler to apologize to the guilty person in the name of peace and tranquility.
I think now that I carry the grievances of those people who are important to me. When you think that such a person could never do anything bad to you, well, he does.
The topic of forgiveness is interesting to me. What does it really mean to forgive? Forget? But if you forget, it will happen again, won't it? If you don't forget - will you really forgive?
Also, it's true, there is such stupid advice - don't pay attention. Some sort of slavish advice. Yes, we live in times when people no longer feel they have dignity and honor. There is nothing to defend then - just forget it.
Even if we look at it from a Christian standpoint, did Christ really teach us to trample our dignity and love our enemies to the point of vomiting, to just stand and love until, say, they kill your whole family? After all, in reality, no one can love their enemies - real ones; for that you just need to be crazy.
I read a thought on some forum, it seems to be someone's quote, that by constantly forgiving a person, we are actually molesting him. After all, even the Old Testament has the motto "an eye for an eye", and the New Testament also has a warning not to cast pearls before swine. And if you do forgive, you don't have to do it more than three times, because a person never learns, he just keeps rolling down. I think there is some meaning hidden.
Forgiveness is not tolerating bad behavior. This is a state when you say what you don't like, clearly show what is unacceptable, but you don't take it all to heart, and you easily let that one go. Probably a good position is to say out loud, name what you feel. It sure is a lot better than keeping quiet and carrying a stoneβ¦
A person needs all his emotions, anger as well. Blocked anger is very harmful to health, and when it comes out, it causes problems. Any suggestion not to be angry, not to be hurt is strange, it is a natural reaction to an injury, to an inappropriate action. Such an offer is an attempt to manipulate so that a person is easy to control. It would be more logical to urge you not to act aggressively, not to attack other people. Then you won't have to be angry.
More often, we need forgiveness for ourselves. Forgiveness is the greatest protection; in fact, we will forgive or even not be offended when we are calm inside and loving.
