Sakleshpur is a small hill-station located in the western ghats of Karnataka, India. Not many people know about this place as there's not much to do here. This is what makes it so unique. It's famous among the Bangaloreans who visit it during the weekend to enjoy a peaceful getaway and a bike ride.
Last weekend I had visited this place along with my friends. Since we were 14 in number, we decided to book a nice homestay for us which would give us privacy as well as be in our budget. It is situated at a distance of 221Km from Bangalore. It was a fun ride till there, we took a few breaks on the way and reached there by the afternoon.
Our homestay was situated on top of a small hill and had a beautiful view of the area. At night we set up a bonfire and had a pretty relaxing time. Oh the number of stars that you can see from there! Definitely not visible in the cities. The organizers had set up a huge table with food piled up on it along with beer as well! It was a great night to remember.
The next day , early morning we set off for our trekking. We had to cross over 3 small hills! It was a very steep path and was by far the most difficult trek of my life. By the time we reached the top, we were exhausted and tired. But the view was worth it!
We stayed on the top for around 2 hours and then began our journey down the slope. By the time we reached down, it was evening. At night we set up the bonfire again. Cold weather, stars above our head, beer in our hand, music around us and a warming fire. All the tiredness was gone! The next day we departed and returned back to Bangalore. I hope to go there soon enough again. There are adventurous activities also organized for interested folks. Planning to take part the next time. I hope you guys liked the pics.
Thanks!
