Ideas flow like a waterfall but…there’s always a catch.

One of my resolutions in 2024 is trying to stay consistent with this blog. At least I am trying to narrow down talking about a few things that truly matter to me. But sometimes, there are days when the energy isn’t just there.

About three days ago, my adoptive dad was hospitalized again. Things have been hectic once more but at least, I set a very rigid routine. I learned from my previous month where I eventually got sick for about 5 days catching a common cold. This time, while my mom is the one who stays at the hospital 24 hours, I am the one taking care of the house affairs. It’s certainly not something fun to do but just as the title said, more coffee, more cleaning.

I think January has moved pretty slow. It’s not because I had fun, just like the common conception where if you have fun, time feels slower. But it could be because this is part of a negative experience. With all the things going on at the moment, it feels eternity that I am not coming out of this phase yet. There are endless things to do and there are 24 hours but often once again, the energy isn’t there.

To boost my energy, I am still doing the exact same thing. There is time for exercise, time for sleep, time for having fun. This weekend, I particularly use it for rest since I feel a bit under the weather. Maybe I am catching a cold again, who knows?

Oh right, about ideas. It’s not that I don’t have ideas. In fact, every moment of my life, there are sparks of ideas. I can talk about anything that comes to mind but I find it increasingly difficult to stick with one.

The other day, I was dabbling with personal identity philosophy. It has been a while since I read books on that and even touched on philosophy. Personal identity is a fascinating subject. Do you know what to answer if someone asks, “ who are you?” and all the other questions that come with it such as, “ what are your life aspirations?”. I personally was blank. I couldn’t even tell who I am, or even why I am living for. Perhaps, I am just here floating around aimlessly? Or perhaps that itself is the answer to “who am I?”. There’s a piece of literature I haven’t finished reading, it’s Personal Identity by Harold Noonan. It’s like the handbook guide to this exact topic and it takes a while for me to read. Maybe one of these days I get to finish that one too.

And the next day, I was also thinking of doing “spring cleaning” but never really got into it. Sometimes cleaning can be a bit overwhelming especially when you have such a big area to cover. It’s why I need more coffee and more caffeine to get some things done.
