Pressure - Ink drawing, 21x16 cm, 2021

Day 9 is here. Interestingly, I found it a bit difficult to come up with ideas for this one. Pressure? How to visualize it? So much pressure! Talk about pressure. After some serious pressuring, I figured, it sounds like holding pressure on the wound to me. This poor alien creature probably got attacked by some monsters on her journey to explore the unknown. She will be fine as soon as she gets back to her spaceship, she will be able to patch herself up.

Even with the preparations ahead of time, I feel the pressure of deadlines. That pressure pushes me to my limits which can be good, but maybe not so great since I also push my physical limitations. It is the choice of whether I push myself now? Or, I let myself rest and then come back swinging twice as hard. But what if I can’t, and I wasted my precious time? Sings Under pressure. Sometimes, I feel I make the wrong choice and end up in the spiral of being exhausted and barely keeping up as a result.

The alien’s galactic skin is a combination of Diamine jet black ink and white Sakura Gelly Roll 08 dots, while she bleeds Diamine purple with a hint of Royal Talens titanium white. I lined it with a Pigma brush pen. I speak about the pressure a lot in this post, but oddly when I work on my stuff, those pressures fall into the background, and I feel perfectly calm and focused.

I wish my blood was this beautiful purple, but I am afraid my blood looks like pure coffee these days.
