Hello Sketchbook Artists
I intentionally wanted this piece to feel more like a study of character than just a portrait. I used strong outlines and layered hatching to define the face, hair and shadows, while keeping some areas open so the drawing could breathe. The side profile expression and proportion without overworking the details.
