Raven - Ink drawing, Hahnemühle Mixed Media paper 310 g/m² 21x16 cm, 2021
I once briefly met a raven on a mountain too. At the time, it felt like a very mystical experience wrapped in a deep fog or as a scene straight from Vikings. Fun fact, the series was filmed in this country as well.
Ravens are mostly pitch black. Their feathers almost seem to glow, but actually, they are just reflecting the light. Therefore I did not ink my raven completely black either and let the water do some magic while creating lighter bits one the feathers. This image helped me figure out the structure of the raven's wings. What tools did I use for this piece? Faber-Castell pencil 2b, Pigma Brush pen, and Diamine jet black drawing/calligraphy ink.
I am really happy with this one. I think it is my personal favorite so far ^^
Autumnal picture of the day - these petals go so well together with the feathers of my raven, hehe!
