@Splinterlands Art Contest Submission Week 154
Wow! Some great submissions last week. Congratulations winners! But I won't be dismayed! Third time's a charm and this week's farside is a doozy. You guys thought I wouldn't upload? Fooled ya 😉 But this one was hard. Very hard. And took a great deal of time and effort to get it looking right. It's all hand drawn in Photoshop again. I learned a lot working on this one and had to work around my work schedule which has been hectic lately.
My submission this week is based on the Giant Roc card.
Whenever I think up a Farside comic idea, I get excited for it. I've had this one for a while and couldn't wait to get it submitted. But there were some hickups along the way. Getting the angle right was trial and error. I tried first to do a head on look...
But in the end I didn't care for it.
So next I tried to do a kinda, swooping down look. But I couldn't get the claws how I wanted them and I knew it wouldn't fit right to put him in a machine... But I liked the head and the angle of it.
I realized that his body, should be drooping in the harness so the swooping down, wouldn't make any sense.
So I came up with a third and final design that I liked. I wanted to give a small nod to the Wave Runner share your battle challenge so I put his fin in there. Did you notice it?
The idea came to me when I saw the cute elephant in his claws no pun intended. Reminded me of The Flintstones where prehistoric animals would perform everyday conveniences and say, "Eh, it's a living." Thought this would be perfect. Giving it my best shot and third time's a charm. I hope you guys enjoy it and it gives you a good laugh!
I learned how to make a gif in photoshop to condense my efforts in a quick animation.
The more you look at it the more mesmerizing it is. It's beautiful, BEAUTIFUL I tell you.
I hope you guys like it. Thank you for any and all votes I truly appreciate it, again congratulations to you winners, well done guys.
