After the visit to Songkhla zoo, we were heading around Songkhla to check out the city. We have been in Hatyai for a day and the half at this point of time. Do read the post on Songkhla zoo. After a half day touring the zoo, it was time to get some food. There is a Chinatown in Songkhla town.
High up. Lots of greenery. Songkhla town.
It's always great to be able to look at so much greenery that surrounds the whole place. Fresh air and lots of space. Then there are the mountainous range that is behind. So beautiful to look at.
Chinatown
This just feels like home. This is what some parts of Sarawak look like but this is part of Thailand. A whole area that has its roots from China. However, that's where things get a little bit strange. They do not speak chinese. They speak Thai.
Parked my car, it was time for a walking tour around this area
The best thing about Hatyai is that it is quite safe to walk around.
The car I rented
Sideways parking. One thing is in Thailand, all parkings and most parkings are sideways. The rules of driving here were different.
A mural on the wall of one of the older buildings.
A chinese temple
A chinese temple. There are many temples all over Hatyai and Songkhla.
Busy neighbourhood.
Lots of motorbikes. Speaking about motorbikes, many of the motorcyclist do not wear helmets. It's a really peculiar site to look at. I wasn't sure why they were allowed not to wear helmets.
The buns
We were searching for this famous shop that sells buns and finally found it. You have to have a GPS to get here. No dine ins. Everything was to be taken away.
The chinese temple
Nicely decorated in red. Lots of lanterns.
Nicely parked bikes
The roads were filled with at parts lots and lots of motorbikes. It was chaotic but yet somehow it had some order.
Wall art
This is the old Songkhla town. There are lots of wall paintings around the whole city where you can take pictures with.
Some of the traditional shop
I did not go in most of the shop. A motorbike. No helmet. Fearless. I would never ride a bike without a helmet.
The bun
This is what the bun looks like on the inside. Does it look delicious?
The neat alleyway.
This is part one of Songkhla town. This is the view of the city.
Wish you a great day. Have a great day.
