Songkhla Zoo part 3

The ape in me

This ape looked like it was out of the cage and my wife was pretty frightened that it would have just jumped out of its cage and attack someone at any time.

The final part of Songkhla zoo. After a couple of hours of driving around this zoo walking around draining tons of my energy. After so much walking and driving around, my belly was calling me to get some food to eat. At this point of time, I still had one and the half day before the day I was to depart this beautiful place.

We saw tortoises, giraffe, crocodiles. Kids were running all around the place while we were there. It was an amazing feeling. It was also hot.

The enclosure of the birds

This zoo is huge and from the looks of it (This is an honest opinion of my trip here), the latter parts of the zoo were all neglected. Most of the parts that attracted the crowds were near the entrance and not many would drive a car around the whole compound. This place is huge. I am not sure how many hectares.

This whole area is for birds

Not all had birds and from the view of this, barely had maintenance.

The ape

Standing tall and all muscular. Everything about this ape just tells me how muscular its body is. Standing high up..... wow. It has all that space to itself. I wonder if it usually feels as though humans who watches him are what it watches. The opposite of what we think. That's just my two cents.

Look at how beautiful that is. Such an amazing looking beast.

My wife with her umbrella. Yes, you'll have to have your umbrella with you all the time. Not all parts are shaded. Unless you want some sunburn.

The Monkeys

Some of the monkeys here are aggressive. They are definitely not shy.

So after a while,
we arrived here. The man made monkey village with a moat that surrounds it. It was feeding time and bananas were thrown into the enclosure. This is one of the most natural enclosures that I've ever seen out here.

Can you spot the little one

The monkey

The mother feeding its young. That is so cute to look at. I am not sure what this species of monkey is called.

This guy

What about him. He just kept clutching the bananas and bringing up the bananas. The bananas just kept falling to the ground and he climbed down. Then went up and it fell again.

It gathered all the bananas

The cute one

Then there is the bird enclosure

EMU

Endemic to Australia, imported here. The birds look like ostrich.

The world's most dangerous bird.

The cassowary

In Miri, Sarawak, there is a cassowary. What makes this bird such a dangerous animal? The sharp long claw on its feet. One strike and I guess, if it hits any vital vessels, lights out. Not sure if those lights would ever turn on again.

The little horse

This is the first time that I've seen this.

The African Meerkats

cute little ones brought in all the way from Africa. There was a Kangaroo enclosure. But the kangaroo no longer there.

These are really funny creatures. Running all around with no stop. Battery at full capacity. That's the way to describe this animal. There was a hyena. Unfortunately, I think it was sick. So while I was near the Hyena enclosure, a group of veterinarians stood there perhaps checking to make sure it was in good health.

Then this was the end of the whole trip. It was mid noon and I was in Songkhla. I drove half an hour to get here. Do read prior post. Have a great day. The next post is going to be about travelling around Songkhla and checking out some parts of Songkhla. Afterall, I had a car with me and I had to make good use of it. Have a great day, thank you for reading.
