In about three weeks, it will be the lunar new year on the Chinese calendar. In the city, decorations are on its way. Plenty of sales are going on around. Malaysia is a country that has a lot of festivals. Holidays are abundant. This year, it is the year of the tiger and any child born during this time till the next lunar new year will have the chinese zodiac of the tiger. It is like the horoscope but it changes annually. There are twelve animals.
Just a month ago, those were hanging compasses and now, the tiger. Lots of red colour and lanterns.
What do Malaysian new year songs sound like?
These will play in the background for the next month. Every where in Supermarkets, malls and even in toilets. Haha.. obsession of festivals. If it's Christmas, then Christmas songs are going to start playing a month prior to Christmas and those songs get stuck in your brain forever.
Lots of red colour
They recycled this from Christmas and now it is a Lunar New Year decoration.
Red lanterns are everywhere
Houses start to hang lanterns all around the city.
Some of the red decorations
Decorative trees with red led lights.
My wife posing in front of the decorations
We'll try to take pictures of every festival we can so when I look at this day in the future, it serves as a time capsule of the past in the future. It's a pity that I did not curate most of the stuff in the past.
How bout my house? Any decorations? The answer is none. Not even one.
