El día sábado fue el cumpleaños de mi amiga karime, la pasamos genial. Decidí hacerle una sorpresa en compañía de otros amigos… no se esperaba nada de lo que teníamos para ella.

Para comenzar me desperté temprano, fui al salón a la cita de las pestañas y me hicieron mantenimiento. Luego ella me pidió que al salir subiera a su casa, ya que su madre le tenia un almuerzo especial de cumpleaños y quería que almorzará junto a ellas... Así fue, me dirigía hasta el lugar donde vive y tenia muchos años sin ir y no recordaba muy bien por donde era el lugar, debía caminar unas casas pero en mi mente no recordaba que fuera tan lejos, tuve que detenerme para intentar recordar si estaba en el camino correcto, fue muy gracioso la verdad; me tope con una señora y le mencioné el nombre de la madre de mi amiga, y cual era la casa en la que vivía, y ella amablemente me contestó que vivía una cuadra más adelante.

Saturday was my friend Karime's birthday, we had a great time. I decided to surprise her in the company of other friends... she didn't expect anything we had for her.

To start I woke up early, went to the salon for my eyelash appointment and had my eyelashes done. Then she asked me to go up to her house, since her mother had a special birthday lunch for her and she wanted me to have lunch with them.... So it was, I was going to the place where she lives and I had many years without going and I did not remember very well where the place was, I had to walk a few houses but in my mind I did not remember that it was so far, I had to stop to try to remember if I was on the right way, it was very funny the truth; I ran into a lady and I mentioned the name of my friend's mother, and which was the house where she lived, and she kindly answered me that she lived a block ahead.

Seguí el camino y debía girar al lado derecho que había otra entrada, y sí allí podía ver a mi amiga desde lo lejos. Esperando por mí, mencionó sentirse asustada porque ya había pasado mucho tiempo y no llegaba, además no había luz y por esa razón tampoco había señal telefónica. Pero bueno ya me encontraba allí. Añoré estar allí, una hermosa casa cálida, que inundo mi mente de muchos buenos recuerdos, parecía que el tiempo no había corrido, que todo se encontraba exactamente igual.

Por otra parte el almuerzo estuvo exquisito, extrañaba un almuerzo bien criollo, con ese sazón único, que sólo lo he podido probar de la madre de mi amiga. Luego nos comenzamos a arreglar para bajar a un sector de la ciudad que se conoce como barrio obrero. Allí teníamos planeado encontrarnos con mi amiga ettevi, Jonathan y la novia de él. Mi amigo no había almorzado así que nos invitó a un lugar muy conocido por sus platos al estilo italiano, que tiene por nombre 1000 miglia.

I followed the path and had to turn to the right side where there was another entrance, and yes, there I could see my friend from far away. Waiting for me, she mentioned feeling scared because it had been a long time and she had not arrived, besides there was no light and for that reason there was no phone signal either. But well, I was already there, a beautiful warm house, which flooded my mind with many good memories, it seemed that time had not run, that everything was exactly the same.

The lunch was exquisite, I missed a good Creole lunch, with that unique seasoning, which I have only been able to taste from my friend's mother. Then we started to get ready to go down to a sector of the city known as the working class neighborhood. There we planned to meet my friend ettevi, Jonathan and his girlfriend. My friend had not had lunch so he invited us to a place well known for its Italian style dishes, called 1000 miglia.

El lugar super lindo muy al estilo de una cafetería de los años 50, con variedad de colores llamativos. Pedimos dos pizzas una alemana y una mil miglia, espectacular el sabor de las pizzas, los productos super fresco, estaban divinas y para colmo que mi comida favorita es la pizza. Nos quedamos un buen momento intercambiando temas, recordando muchos momentos de nuestra adolescencia, ya que ellos también fueron parte de ella (ettevi y Jonathan. Tambien estudiaron conmigo el bachillerato), la novia de mi amigo mencionó el estar sorprendida de tanto tiempo que ha pasado y aun sigamos en contacto y unidos como desde el primer día, ya que eso no era muy común y por ejemplo ella no volvió a saber nada más de su grupo de amistades del bal bachillerato.

Nos tomamos unas cuantas fotos para recordar ese momento como uno más de tantos, lleno de mucha felicidad y nostalgia, como es posible que ya haya pasado tanto tiempo. De igual manera queríamos ir por unos helados que son deliciosos, y muy cremosos, son muy famosos en san Cristóbal, y qué todo el tiempo se encuentra al tope de personas ya que además de lo que mencioné, también son económicos a diferencia de otros lugares. Yo pedí mi sabor favorito desde que estaba embarazada de mi bebé y que además era el antojo de esos momentos; el tradicional sabor de chocolate, es una cosa espectacular, les recomiendo visitar esa heladería, cuando vengan de paseo al estado Táchira, se llama kakao40.

The place is super cute, very much in the style of a cafeteria of the 50's, with a variety of bright colors. We ordered two pizzas, one German and one mil miglia, the taste of the pizzas was spectacular, the products were super fresh, they were divine and to top it off my favorite food is pizza. We stayed a good time exchanging topics, remembering many moments of our adolescence, since they were also part of it (ettevi and Jonathan, who also studied with me in high school), my friend's girlfriend mentioned to be surprised that so much time has passed and we are still in contact and united as from the first day, since that was not very common and for example she did not know anything more of her group of friends from high school.

We took a few pictures to remember that moment as one of many, full of happiness and nostalgia, how is it possible that so much time has already passed. We also wanted to go for some ice cream, which is delicious and very creamy, very famous in San Cristobal, and which is always full of people, because in addition to what I mentioned, they are also inexpensive unlike other places. I ordered my favorite flavor since I was pregnant with my baby and it was also the craving of those moments; the traditional chocolate flavor, it is a spectacular thing, I recommend you to visit this ice cream shop, when you come to Táchira state, it is called kakao40.

Allí nos encontrábamos tomándonos de igual manera varias fotos, Mientras llegaba el pedido de una torta que encargamos mediante delivery para mi amiga, queríamos sorprenderla con ese pequeño detalle. Y totalmente se sorprendió mucho, hasta sus ojos se pusieron llorosos, me dijo que estaba muy feliz que anheló varios cumpleaños pasados, poder estar en su país, con su familia y amigos.

Le cantamos cumpleaños en la heladería, y ya se disponía la hora de regresar a casa, ya se estaba oscureciendo y debíamos volver. Fue un día bonito y con personas muy bonitas. Más vale el tiempo de calidad que la cantidad. Extrañé mucho a mi bebé. Son muy pocas las veces que salgo sin ella, y ese día fue una de esas. Pero bueno se lo recompensaré luego.

There we were taking several pictures, while the order of a cake that we ordered by delivery for my friend was arriving, we wanted to surprise her with that little detail. And she was totally surprised, even her eyes became teary, she told me that she was very happy that she had longed for several birthdays in the past, to be able to be in her country, with her family and friends.

We sang her birthday at the ice cream parlor, and it was time to go back home, it was getting dark and we had to go back. It was a beautiful day with beautiful people. Quality time is better than quantity. I missed my baby very much. There are very few times I go out without her, and that day was one of those. But I will make it up to her later.
