Hello everyone, good afternoon, Hiveans!
I have a story about pets that people in the world often do, besides having a cat I also have a beautiful bird that is sweet and has a fantastic voice when it makes a sound.
This tiny bird is often called Murai Batu or Srikatan or some call it a flying insect catcher (Sikatan).
About 3 months ago or exactly on December 17, 2020, a stone magpie was chased by a group of other wild birds. At that time the stone magpie flew so fast that it collided with our flower pot, so that it fell to be precise in front of our porch. At that instant I quickly took it because was afraid that the cat would catch it.
The bird suffered serious injuries near the upper temple of its right eye but it was still treatable so that within 7 days it was back to normal health.
I really like him because he has very magical characteristics that he carries. One of them is a very melodious chirp, like the sound of immersive music, the chirp is like creit, creit, long creit as if it has a neatly arranged tone resulting in a variety of soothing rhythms.
Although the body posture of the flycatcher (Murai Batu) has a small and light body which is different from other ornamental birds. However, its small body is more filled with long and thick hairs, this makes it look like it looks big, especially since its long tail adds a distinctive pattern of beauty to it. However, it has an unusual diet, and eats more and more flying insects such as butterflies, dragonflies, moths, making it agile in snatching up its prey. When he was with us, I changed his diet by providing bird feed that can be obtained in traditional markets.
For approximately 3 months he was cared for with great love so that he became more agile in singing (chirping) and already knew his master in analyzing his master in our life, but that day, on Saturday, March 13, 2021, he was attacked by a neighbor's cat at the location where stay (cage). Even though the feral cat could reach his body in the cage or couldn't catch him, Stone Magpie was psychologically disturbed so that he became sick and scared.
The psychology of our bird is increasingly disturbed so that anyone who approaches it will produce unusual behavior, it is very frightened, as if anyone who approaches it is always considered an opponent, not a friend.
He was sick for three days, did not want to eat the food that had been provided, he was getting weaker physically, he was getting more and more gloomy, no longer singing like the previous days. The joy seemed to have gone and will not come back again dan finally he breathed his last and died.
My beloved Stone Magpie has returned to where it was born, there is no more sweet voice in the morning, the joy that has been there is now silent, my heart is like being hit by a loud wave, I am very sad, seeing it go away forever.
I saw it myself when he breathed his last it was very painful when the life came out of the body, I could not help him, I was just silent to see the end of his life.
Only regret when it came, why did I leave him that day, why did not I let him escape into his wild so that he would build his own civilization, I felt so guilty about his life that I had restrained, so I promised myself I would never adopt again wild animals who intentionally or unintentionally are with me.
Goodbye my darling...
Welcome to your new life...
You have gone through critical times...
