The topic that we're looking at today, is gullibility, and money.
What is being gullible?
The dictionary definition is this: Easily deceived or duped.
Now obviously, no one likes to feel that they've been duped .
Not only does it generally mean that money's been taken off you, under false pretenses - it’s also a massive blow to the ego.
The psychosocial pain that comes with being a total fucking idiot (gullible) , can be far harder to bear, than the loss of money itself.
....having to go to a soup kitchen because some twat is now spending your money to buy hookers and blow in Antigua, can be less painful than the day in, day out, crushing of the ego..
If you let greed blind you to reality, you’re gonna get fleeced.
If you trust, where no trust is warranted, then you’re wallet is gonna shrink down to a size so thin, that it'd make a vegans muscle mass seem voluminous.
Trust.
It’s all about trust.
...Or trusting stupidly, shall we say.
Who do you trust with your money?
Anyone?
Why do you - why would you - trust people that you've never met, with your money?
Is it because they have a professional image, or that they've lots of reviews online, telling you just how trustworthy they are?
That’s not trust – that’s gullibility.
Trust has to be earned, with time and action - it's not earned over the internet by using two hundred people on fiverr contracts, to spam their own website giving great reviews.
Before we continue with this very serious subject of being a naive fool, let me first psychologically manipulate you, at little. (it won't hurt - and you won't be feeling any pricks).
And most importantly - Don’t be offended.
Don' forget - you’ve already been psychologically manipulated if you’ve ever put money into a ‘trusted institution’ based on blind faith or 'reputation'.
I’m mentioning this upfront for a very good reason...
Psychological manipulation can be both good, and bad.
It’s all about the intent behind 'the manipulators' actions.
For an example of good manipulation, I’m going to psychologically manipulate you in a short while.
My intent - my motivation for doing so , is to receive upvotes from you, thus making me wealthier in the process.
And my motivation behind telling you this first, is to make you feel guilty.
But guilty in a good way.
...Uh?
IF - after reading my post - you feel that you’ve gleaned some value from it – while at the same time hating my fucking guts for pointing out certain truths (truths that you'd prefer NOT to hear) , but truths nonetheless then it would become very easy for you to project your dislike of yourself onto me - by passively aggressively reacting - by declining to support the post via up voting.
It can be an unconscious human behavior.
My psychological manipulation of you is nearly complete !!! ..bear with me...
....most of this manipulation constitutes reading the paragraph above - you know - the one that you’ve just read.
You cannot unread it.
It’s too late for all that malarky - you might as well finish the post now...(you don't want a floppy willy).
If you DO NOT upvote it in a way they you find truly commensurate to the subjective value that you've gleaned from it - you no longer have any excuse for not upvoting me.
It's in the conscious realm now.
You can still choose not to upvote my post of course, if there was no value extracted - that’s entirely your decision.
However - if you are not an emotionally stunted manchild, (or a malignant narcissist/sociopath/psychopath , in which case the rules of morality and common decency don't apply), then somewhere deep down, hidden inside your psyche , the GUILT of not upvoting something that you've gleaned value from, will haunt you.

You might not even be aware of it, but it will eat away at you, and will most probably come to the fore, at a point in the future when you least expect it.

That impotence that you might encounter in the future – might well be your repressed guilt for not upvoting a post that you've gleaned value from.

Now ask the customers of 'investment guru' Bernie Madorff about this, - they know exactly what I’m talking about.
IF you choose to hand over your hard earned cash for others to play with – and it’s not based on verifiable trust (reviews online don’t count, they really, really, don’t).
it then means you’re being gullible.
You’re being a naive idiot.
(Do you also think banks are reputable, ethical, and trustworthy?)
Being as green as the grass, as naïve as it gets, is best seen through the actions - you know , parting with your hard earned cash to a faceless corporation to do with whatever they like...(they also lie).... It speaks volumes.
It is what it is, however - and no amount of rationalizing will help you out now.
Not now that I’ve brought the glaring, fundamental truth to you - and plonked right in front of your very eyes.
