I find myself sometimes in a daze.
When l think of my younger days
How l didn’t search to find the inner me.
I would follow the crowd instead of being free.
To afraid to stand out, to shout l am not like you
and don’t want to be!
So on l went through life as a blur blending in
like a gray lifeless color.
Just like most of my human sisters and brothers.
Time you see waits for no one, it does not care
if you’re afraid to reach for the sun.
It does not care if you choose to be a follower
or like a mindless sheep. It doesn’t care what
company you keep.
We are on this earth only for a little while.
To find our gifts, individuality, what gives us
the true reason to smile.
So goes my journey to set my spirit free.
To see the wonders in life just being me.
