Being a event attendant is one of the demanding jobs to do. This job requires attention to detail, a willingness to adapt, and a commitment to delivering top-notch service. I've handled the role in various capacities, and I tell you, it's not a job for the faint-hearted. Lol. Trust me, it's a test of one's patience, dedication, and resilience. But it's also incredibly fun and rewarding, especially when you're working with a team that's dedicated to making the event a success.
I know you might be wondering why I'm all about the even attendant stuff, right? Chill, I'll spill the beans. Lol.
So my weekend was an exciting, fulfilling, yet stressful one. I attended a special event - the 35th priestly anniversary celebration of a respected priest - a great milestone. He's someone I've had the pleasure of knowing and admiring for his extraordinary selflessness, kindness, and generosity. A jolly good fellow.
Whenever he hosts an event, he calls on me to help, especially with serving his special guests, and I feel honored to oblige. The trust he places in me is a testament to my exceptional service delivery. No capping here. Lol.
The thing is that I've come to realize that I'm naturally inclined towards serving others, particularly in event settings. Whenever there's an event, whether it's a church event, a work-related occasion, social events or just any event that I'm opportune to attend, I'm often called upon to help out. I'm always happy to oblige, ensuring that everyone is comfortable and well taken care of. I think it's a gift, and I'm thankful to be able to use it the best way I can.
Seems like I'll change jobs and become an event attendant. What do you think? 馃
A bit of side-tracking there. Lol. So back to my story
Since the celebration was to take place on Saturday, November 24th, at his home town, Umunkpeyi Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa, I traveled on Friday evening to assist with preparations, working alongside familiar faces like the event planner cum cook, who also knows her onion well. We worked as a team, together with other helpers, to get everything ready.

The event had guests from all walks of life. His parishioners, kindreds, family, friends, acquaintances and well wishers all turned up en-masse to celebrate him and with him. The local ordinary of the Diocese, the Bishop, was also in attendance, serving as the chief host.
During his speech, the priest said that he's grateful for the privilege to be celebrating his 35th anniversary while still alive, adding that he's equally overwhelmed by the massive show of love, support and honor on his big day.
He emphasized that it's not just about waiting until someone passes away to honor them, but rather to celebrate and appreciate them in the present moment.
His words left a lasting impression on me because they carry a profound message about the importance of living in the present, celebrating milestones and appreciating life while one is still alive.
There were assorted foods and drinks - jellof rice with salad, soups and swallow, assorted protein etc.

Then other side dishes like goat meat peppersoup, ugba(oil bean), cow leg nkwobi, including our local treat - roasted yam and plantain garnished with spicy sauce and side fish. In fact everything was "in quantum", and everyone ate to their fill. 馃槀
I ensured the guests I was assigned to were well served and everyone got what they needed, despite the pressure. Gosh! In fact everyone - children, young and old, who attended the event was well catered for. This was the priest's express instruction and it was carried to the latter.
Since I was busy serving the guests, I couldn't capture the event proper on camera. But all in all, itwent smoothly and the weather remained clement all through. Everyone was happy, the celebrant was even happier, and I, the happiest. Lol. You know why? "The celebrant's appreciation for my efforts, the guest's kind words and commendation was heartwarming. It really made my day.
After the event, I traveled back home, exhausted, but happy to have been part of such a memorable celebration.
