Having a dreem space I believe is something everyone desires and just as we are different so also our desired dreem spaces. A dreem space can be starting up a business, building a house, traveling oversea, furthering education or even getting married. That project you dream of carrying out one day that will make you happy and fulfilled is your dreem space.
In my previous post, I shared the type of dreem space I desire to have - a spacious land where I will build my home, well landscaped with a garden, a snail and fish farm and probably a poultry too. Most importantly, it will make me be close and enjoy the beauties of nature.
I grew up in a family where we grew most of the foods we ate- cassava, yam, potatoes, vegetables and fruits too, and some of these food produce were equally sold which served as an avenue for extra income for the family. There was the mini poultry and I remember that at some point, I was the one tending them. These are some of the things that what sparked my interest in having such space and I also want my children to have that knowledge too.
So having this dreem space will not only be an avenue for me to grow our own foods, extra income can be made by selling the food produce too. Finally I will be leaving a legacy for my children.
Having known the tyie of dreem space you desire, there's need to draw a plan which will contain the basic things or tools that will be needed inorder to make the dreem become a realty and not just a mere dream. It is very important, therefore I will hightlight three tools that I will be needing for a start.
They are;
Like I wrote in my previous post about the type of dreem space that I desire to have, you will agree with me that it is a capital intensive project. No one buys land with just few thousand of dollars not to mention the structures that will be built there including the landscaping, garden and other necessary things to make it more habitable.
Prices of lands appreciate by the day, therefore getting the desired spacious land with accessible roads will cost me millions of naira.
Where I live now a plot of land costs about ₦5m ($6,131) upwards depending on the site.
I've started making enquires on the prices of lands in various locations. The other day I asked one of my colleagues how much a plot of land is sold in his area of and he replied;
hmmm, you cannot get a plot of land that is easily accessible anything less than ₦4.5m ($5.5 approximately) except it's for places that are yet to have human dwelling.
He further said that one his neighbors sold half plot of land for ₦3.5m.
Also few days ago I was discussing with a client who is currently building a hotel here in my city and he told me that he has spent ₦2.5m ($3.07m)
for landscaping only - planting of flowers, trees and other stuffs and that there still more to be done. So you can imagine how much it will now cost me to get mine done, let's say I should be budgeting about ₦10m ($12.26m) for a start.
Although needed fund to carry out this project is not available now, I am making conscious effort to save up for it. I already have an account for this project to which my Hive account is among and the greater percentage of my earnings go in there. That was one of the reasons my author reward was set at 100% before so that I won't be tempted to divert the money elsewhere, but even now that it's on 50/50%, I still stick to plans.
Using part of my Hive earnings to buy a land and develop it too will be one of my greatest testimony and it will serve as a conviction to those who believe that Hive is a scam.
- People / Workers
Once the issue of fund is settled, the next basic thing is to get the needed hands that will help in making this project become a reality. I cannot do it alone, just like a tree cannot make a forest.
First I will employ the services of a certified land surveyor who will do a proper survey of the land and mounting of the beacons including registering it officially in the ministry of lands both in the local and state governments so that I can get the approved certification to develop the land. Why I will do this is to avoid having issues when work must have started there. For this I do not have idea of the procedures but I will consult with friends who do when the time comes.
Although in my mind, I have visualized how I want my space to be but it has to be translated in print or paper so it can be seen. For this I do not have the knowledge and that's why I need the services of an expert - an experienced architect who will draw the building plan of my dreem just the way I desire it but I will be open to other better suggestions he might have, as I am not an expert in that field.
Finally will be the building engineer and his workers - the masons, the iron benders, electrical workers, tilers and every other worker needed in a building project
- Determination
One may not be able to achieve anything in life without determination, it is veery much needed. Looking at the the size and budget of my dreem space and the fact that funds are not readily available to carry it out, I will be afraid, demoralized or even forgo it but that will be making it just a mere dream. So I will put on all armour of determination and continue to walk towards the goal by saving every extra penny that comes in. I will also be on the lookout for other sources of raising funds with little or no interest.
Land scouting will also be in progress, for by doing this I hope to get a cool site with a good deal.
I believe these tools will greatly help me to put my dreem space up and running.
