I wanted an easier way to find the skins I’m missing and people who might trade for them. Apparently my answer to too much clicking is to build another website.
The new Skins tool is live: https://splintertools.com/skins
There are three tabs, depending on what you’re trying to do:
Search
Browse the skins, pick a set, and see the owners we’ve found. Put in your username and choose Missing to hide the ones you already have. Owned and All are there too.
Collection
Enter a username to see that account’s skins in one sortable list, with quantities and market information where available.
Compare & trade
Put in two usernames and look for possible swaps. By default, it shows spare copies that the other person is missing, keeping one of each skin for your collection. You can include single copies if you’re feeling less possessive than I am.
Add skins to either side of a proposed trade and share it. There’s also a link to the game’s Trading Hall when you’re ready to take it further.
For example: you’ve got two copies of a skin I’m missing, and I’ve got a spare you need. The comparison helps us find that without having to dig through each other’s collections manually.
A couple of things are still filling in. Older ownership history isn’t complete yet, and prices aren’t available for everything. An asking price is also different from an actual sale, so the tool keeps those separate. If there’s no price listed, you’re welcome to send it to lorkus. I’ll bravely take on the burden of figuring out what it’s worth.
If you want to give it a try, start with your username and the Missing filter. That’s probably the quickest way to discover that your collection has more holes than you thought.
Selfishly, I’m still hunting a few Haunted skins. Look up lorkus and compare collections with me. Maybe we can help each other finish a set.
