As some of you know, lately I've been reliving the excitement of Game of Thrones by re-watching the series, and just today I finished the second season. This immersion into the world of Westeros inspired me to bring one of my favorite characters to life: Arya Stark, but with a twist that fuses her indomitable essence with the vibrant aesthetic of the anime.
In my interpretation, Arya is ready for battle, with her trusty sword, Needle, held high, pointing resolutely forward. I wanted to capture her fighting spirit and her evolution in the series, showing her in an outfit that blends functionality and the elegance of a warrior. Her dark bodice, adorned with patterns that evoke armor, and the cape that falls over her shoulders, give her that air of strength and mystery that characterizes her so much. In addition, she could not miss the Catspaw dagger, which hangs from her waist, reminding us that Arya is always ready for any challenge.
The background of the illustration complements her figure, with a sky tinged with purples and blues that conveys the atmosphere of a world in constant change. The crystalline structures looming on the horizon add a touch of fantasy, further highlighting the merging of two worlds: that of Westeros and that of anime.

En mi interpretaci贸n, Arya est谩 lista para la batalla, con su fiel espada, Aguja, en alto, apuntando con decisi贸n hacia adelante. He querido capturar su esp铆ritu combativo y su evoluci贸n en la serie, mostr谩ndola con un atuendo que mezcla la funcionalidad y la elegancia de una guerrera. Su bodice oscuro, adornado con patrones que evocan una armadura, y la capa que cae sobre sus hombros, le dan ese aire de fuerza y misterio que tanto la caracteriza. Creating this fan art of Arya Stark was both an exciting and challenging process, and each stage of the illustration allowed me to explore different aspects of her character.
I started with a sketch that captured her combat pose. I wanted Arya to look determined and ready for action, so I made sure that her body position and the gesture of her hand holding the sword were dynamic. Sketching is always a crucial stage, where the essence of the character is established. Drawing Arya in a pose that reflected her indomitable spirit was key to convey the energy I was looking for in the illustration.
With the basic structure defined, I moved on to outlining. In this phase, I paid special attention to detail, making sure that each stroke was precise and clean. Outlining is like giving final shape to the character, and in Arya's case, I wanted her expression, her outfit and her Needle sword to have the sharpness and definition that reflect her strength and determination. I worked with lines that could highlight both her warrior look and the fluidity of the anime style.
The next step was coloring, where I really started to bring Arya to life. For her outfit, I opted for dark and sober tones, in line with the color palette we associate with her character and her journey in the series. The layers of color were carefully applied, seeking a balance between the somber palette and the more vivid accents seen in the details of her clothing and accessories. Here I also gave special attention to the tonality of her skin and the brightness in her eyes, key elements to maintain the emotional connection with the character.
After applying the base colors, I focused on the shadows. Shadows are essential for adding depth and volume to the illustration, and in this case, they helped emphasize the tension in his fighting stance. I worked the shadows to accentuate the curves of her body and the texture of her clothing, giving Arya a more tangible and realistic presence within the framework of the anime style.
Finally, I added the shimmers, which are the finishing touch that bring vitality and dynamism to the work. Applying sparkles at key points, such as on Needle's blade, the folds of her clothing, and in her eyes, gave the illustration a spark of life that contrasts with the shadows and highlights the most important features. These little sparkles also helped to better integrate Arya with the environment I created for her, a world where the epic and the fantastic meet.
The result is a reimagined Arya Stark that not only respects her essence, but amplifies it through the anime style. Each stage of the process was an opportunity to delve deeper into her character and capture it in a work that, I hope, captures the strength and determination that defines her.

Comenc茅 con un boceto que capturara su pose de combate. Quer铆a que Arya se viera decidida y lista para la acci贸n, por lo que me asegur茅 de que la posici贸n de su cuerpo y el gesto de su mano sosteniendo la espada fueran din谩micos. El boceto es siempre una etapa crucial, donde se establece la esencia del personaje. Dibujar a Arya en una pose que reflejara su esp铆ritu indomable fue clave para transmitir la energ铆a que buscaba en la ilustraci贸n.
Con la estructura b谩sica definida, pas茅 al delineado. En esta fase, prest茅 especial atenci贸n a los detalles, asegur谩ndome de que cada trazo fuera preciso y limpio. Delinear es como darle forma definitiva al personaje, y en el caso de Arya, quer铆a que su expresi贸n, su atuendo y su espada Aguja tuvieran la nitidez y la definici贸n que reflejan su fuerza y determinaci贸n. Trabaj茅 con l铆neas que pudieran resaltar tanto su aspecto guerrero como la fluidez del estilo anime.
El siguiente paso fue el coloreado, donde realmente comenc茅 a dar vida a Arya. Para su atuendo, opt茅 por tonos oscuros y sobrios, en l铆nea con la paleta de colores que asociamos con su car谩cter y su camino en la serie. Las capas de color fueron aplicadas con cuidado, buscando un equilibrio entre la paleta sombr铆a y los acentos m谩s vivos que se ven en los detalles de su vestimenta y accesorios. Aqu铆 tambi茅n di especial atenci贸n a la tonalidad de su piel y el brillo en sus ojos, elementos clave para mantener la conexi贸n emocional con el personaje.
Despu茅s de aplicar los colores base, me centr茅 en las sombras. Las sombras son esenciales para agregar profundidad y volumen a la ilustraci贸n, y en este caso, ayudaron a enfatizar la tensi贸n en su postura de combate. Trabaj茅 las sombras para que acentuaran las curvas de su cuerpo y la textura de su ropa, d谩ndole a Arya una presencia m谩s tangible y realista dentro del marco del estilo anime.
Finalmente, a帽ad铆 los brillos, que son el toque final que aporta vitalidad y dinamismo a la obra. Aplicar brillos en los puntos clave, como en la hoja de Aguja, los pliegues de la ropa, y en sus ojos, le dio a la ilustraci贸n una chispa de vida que contrasta con las sombras y resalta las caracter铆sticas m谩s importantes. Estos peque帽os destellos tambi茅n ayudaron a integrar mejor a Arya con el entorno que cre茅 para ella, un mundo donde lo 茅pico y lo fant谩stico se encuentran.
El resultado es una Arya Stark reimaginada que no solo respeta su esencia, sino que la amplifica a trav茅s del estilo anime. Cada etapa del proceso fue una oportunidad para profundizar en su car谩cter y plasmarlo en una obra que, espero, capture la fuerza y la determinaci贸n que la definen.
