Ive been busy this last week with a bunch of different things ill prolly get into at a later date but for now i want to share some photos i took a few days ago when i had the opportunity to play a cowboy. (Im uploading 4k photos so i hope Steemit doesnt ruin them too much.)
Basically, during winter months a guy i know moves his 400 cows from the pastures that are at 2000 meters elevation because it gets snowy, to warmer climate in Dalmatia.
We had run the cows down the mountain towards his property where he keeps them before shipping them away.
Its around a 10km walk.
Quite an experience seeing all this transpire. I have a few videos as well, but i dont really feel like editing them and uploading to youtube...
So these are his pastures on the top of the mountain. Theres a small house on top i didnt take a photo of unfortunately.
The second one is a bit further down the hill.
The line of cows was a few kilometers long.
There was one problem with the tractor so we couldnt move the calfs that were too young to walk so i drove them around in the jeep. This little fellow is only 1 day old.
I had another one in the trunk. :D
Later he fell asleep in the seat.
My job was basically to keep them off the road and to drink beer when im bored. :)
Eventually it got dark but we managed to get them all inside by 21:00. When youre working with so many cows on a plot of 700 acres, some get lost but eventually find their way into the town and the townfolk picks them up.
Was pretty fun to see and the nature is amazing there. I didnt have time to take some "artsy" photos so i hope this will do. Another one of a bull in the dark and ill see you...
