Previously I was wrote about SPS price and how it compares to other P2E game tokens. Today, let's check out the market caps of some games and how it compares to SPS.
Gods Unchained is also a trading card game whose gameplay is similar to Hearthstone. Personally, I like Splinterlands gameplay better since it's quicker per game whereas it takes me around 15-30 minutes per game of Gods Unchained thus, harder to grind. Currently the market cap of GODS token is $107m.
Alienworlds is a mining game where you need tool NFTs to mine TLM for a certain amount of time depending on your tools and the land where you are mining. That's basically the gameplay of Alienworlds. I find this a bit boring but the simplicity is appealing to a lot of players. The market cap of TLM token is $108m.
Axie Infinity was the most popular P2E game. You just need to invest in a team of three Axie NFTs to battle against a similar team where you can earn SLP. Axie has fallen under tough times since its peak in 2021 but it seems to be making a comeback. The market cap of SLP is $242m.
In comparison, Splinterlands started in 2018 and also reached peaked popularity in 2021. Similar to Axie and other P2E games, Splinterlands also experienced a decline in its player base and the price of its token. The market cap of SPS is $12m.
As we can see, the market cap of the first two games is almost ten times while Axie's SLP is twenty times that of Splinterlands. In terms of gameplay, Splinterlands is as much fun if not more than the other games. If the team can attract new players to come into the game then the upside potential of SPS is around 10x or more if it can catch up to the other games. On the bright side, it was discussed in the recent townhall that the team is looking to expand its headcount particulary in marketing. This is a positive step to bring the game out to attract new players and investors. Let's hope for the best and shoutout to the Splinterlands team who continue to work hard on our game.
