Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

The Arena Vanguards are fast becoming regulars in my battles. I cannot use them as much yet because they are just level one. However, there are situations when they give me the advantage in battles. In today's post, I'll feature the three Arena Vanguards I use the most.

Jolius Blast

Jolius Blast, designed by iblast@iblast is the Fire Arena Vanguard. He's decent at level one but he'll be a super tank in the Frontier at maxed levels. He's a great card against magic or physical attackers because of his combination of stats and abilities.

The battle is an ideal ruleset for Jolius. It has Noxious Fumes where his high health will help him survive longer. It has Super Sneak which means he can attack from any position and the mana cap is high at seventy eight. I had my Fire team but also had another Arena Vanguard take second position. I used Buns the Unseen because he has slightly higher health and has armor compared to Chaos Furybringer. The rest of the team were the usual cards I use in such battles.

The enemy used a magic team which can be countered by Jolius with his Void ability that reduces magic attacks. In the battle, the poison damage made quick work of the enemy while my team especially Jolius survived owing to his health.

Buns the Unseen

Buns the Unseen, designed by bunsbagsandcaps@bunsbagsandcaps is probably the most versatile among the Arena Vanguards. He can be used by all Splinters being neutral. He can be in second position with his Reach ability or take on the role of the main tank. His specialty is being anti magic due to his Void Armor and Silence abilities. He is a decent tank because of this thick armor.

The battle has Up Close & Personal ruleset. Normally, I'd use Mad Gearhead in second position but Buns has the higher defense. The enemy and I use the same cards except for the second position card. He used Mad Gearhead and I used Buns whose eight armor was crucial in securing the win.

Khan Feywest

Khan Feywest designed by ehmaywuntee@ehmaywuntee is Earth's magic damage dealer. At maxed level, he is a better version of legendary Water card, Mystic Scaleweaver. Khan Feywest also deal three magic damage and has the Slow ability. He also has Divine Shield that makes him invulnerable to the enemy's first attack. In any case, it's huge to have another magic attacker in the Earth team as can be seen in the next battle.

The ruleset included Armored Up which suggest the use of magic units. In this battle I only had four units: Dread Tafarian in the tank position. Glimmermancer was my first damage dealer while New Beluroc Aegis is there to draw attacks and absorb damage from Reckless. Lastly, I had Khan Feywest as my second damage dealer. His three magic attack made the difference in this battle.

The enemy did not use any magic units but had a full six man team. This strategy did more harm done good because of the "No Pain, No Gain" ruleset. THe absence of magic units was also a disadvantage because physical attacks had to destroy armor first before they can damage health.
