We begin by first removing the impurities as we can see in the video, using sandpaper to leave the bricks as smooth as possible and without dirt or moisture stains, then we clean the dust left behind by the sandpaper. with a brush to continue sanding again.
As I hold the sandpaper in my hand I am excited to start sanding the brick wall that has been waiting for my attention for so long. On the other hand, I feel a little anxiety, since I know that this process can be tedious and require a lot of effort and I will most likely end up tired but in my mind it is already clear to me that it will be worth it.
Comenzamos primero removiendo las impuresas como podemos observar en el video, utilizando una lija para poder dejar los ladrillos de la forma mas lisa y sin suciedad ni manchas de humedad, luego vamos limpiando el polvo que va dejando el paso de la lija con una brocha para continuar lijando de nuevo.
Mientras sostengo la lija en mi mano estoy emocionada de empezar a lijar la pared de ladrillos que ha estado esperando mi atenci贸n durante tanto tiempo. Por otro lado, siento un poco de ansiedad, ya que s茅 que este proceso puede ser tedioso y requerir mucho esfuerzo y lo mas seguro es que voy a terminar cansada pero en mi mente ya tengo claro que valdr谩 la pena.
When sanding the wall with smooth, circular movements, feeling how the sandpaper gently scrapes the surface of the bricks. At first, it's a slow and laborious process, but as I progress, I feel a sense of satisfaction as I watch the wall begin to transform.
However, it's also frustrating when I come across areas that are particularly difficult to sand. Bricks can be very porous and absorb a lot of sandpaper, making it difficult to get a smooth finish. But you don't have to give up. I keep sanding, patiently and persistently, until I finally see that I achieve the result I want.
Al lijar la pared con movimientos suaves y circulares, sintiendo c贸mo la lija raspa suavemente la superficie de los ladrillos. Al principio, es un proceso lento y laborioso, pero a medida que avanzo, siento una sensaci贸n de satisfacci贸n al ver c贸mo la pared comienza a transformarse.
Sin embargo, tambi茅n es frustrante cuando me encuentro con 谩reas particularmente dif铆ciles de lijar. Los ladrillos pueden ser muy porosos y absorber mucho la lija, lo que hace que sea dif铆cil obtener un acabado suave. Pero no hay que rendirse. Sigo lijando, paciente y persistentemente, hasta que finalmente veo que logro el resultado que deseo.
Then in a plastic container that I have cut to use as a container for our special recycling product, which if you haven't guessed from seeing it in the video yet, is used motor oil, which in this case was given to me by a mechanic friend who lives in the urbanization.
Luego en un recipiente plastico que he cortado para usar como envase para nuestro producto especial de reciclaje, que si al verlo en el video no lo han adivinado todavia es, aceite de motor usado, que en este caso me lo ha regalado un amigo mecanico que vive en la urbanizaci贸n.
We are applying it on the entire surface of the bricks, you must take into consideration that this product has a strong smell during the application process and a couple of days after it is finished, so that is why we use it in this outdoor area, in the same way it is advisable to use a mask or a cloth to cover our nose so that we do not get dizzy while we apply this layer of oil on our surface.
Vamos aplicando sobre toda la superficie de ladrillos, deben tener en consideraci贸n que este producto tiene un olor fuerte durante el proceso de aplicaci贸n y un par de dias luego de finalizado asi que por eso lo utilizamos en esta area exterior, de igual manera es recomendable utilizar una mascarilla o un trapo para cubrirnos la nariz para que no nos mareemos mientras que aplicamos esta capa de aceite sobre nuestra superficie.

Aqui estoy mostrandoles como se veia antes y cuanto me falta aun por aplicar, estoy feliz al realizar este proceso ya que en esta area es donde mas espacio verde tengo y se siente como se le va dando una nueva vida a lo que antes estaba opaco y triste.
We are advancing little by little, without haste but without pause, and we see how our planter looks much better each time, the best of all is that we are not spending on those expensive varnish for this process and in addition to that it is a more economical method we are also giving use to a material that would surely end up contaminating a river or any other natural body of water.
Vamos avanzando poco a poco, sin prisa pero sin pausa, y vemos como cada vez se ve mucho mejor nuestra jardinera, lo mejor de todo es que no estamos gastando en esos caros barniz para este proceso y adem谩s que es un metodo mas economico tambi茅n estamos dando uso a un material que seguramente terminaria por ah铆 contaminando alg煤n rio o cualquier otro cuerpo de agua natural.
In this segment we can already see how all the work is finished and with just one liter of used motor oil, we had enough for the entire planter and the brick wall and both now look spectacular and their color is more full of life, therefore Of course the smell is not very pleasant but after a couple of days it disappears and now with this protective layer the rain and humidity will not deteriorate our bricks.
En este segmento ya podemos ver como queda finalizado todo el trabajo y con un solo litro de aceite de motor usado, nos alcanz贸 para toda la jardinera y para la pared de ladrillo y ambas ahora se ven espectaculares y su color mas lleno de vida, por su puesto que el olor no es muy placentero pero despues de un par de dias desaparece adem谩s de que ahora con esta capa protectora la lluvia y la humedad no van a deteriorar nuestros ladrillos.
