I just finished a 5.212km run that lasted about 0hh:33mm:6ss !
Got out a little earlier and "only" did 5k/30 mins. I'm trying to get to that sub-30 min 5k but it's still elusive. I ran as fast as I thought I could today and the best 5 was still 31:45 - this is big progress since... um... not being able to run either 5k or for 30 minutes only nine months ago but frustrating. It's interesting to see that I actually speeded up in the third, fourth and fifth kilometres when I thought I'd slowed down. I think that's because there are more downhill bits where I naturally speed up a little and that carries over when things flatten out. In general, this is a fairly flat course. I doubt that I could maintain this pace on the undulating local parkrun course.
To me it shows that whatever I'm doing, I'm doing something right. My runs get longer and quicker and I'm back in the groove of comfortably doing three times a week. Check out some detailed info at my EXHAUST page Join me in testing out EXHAUST!
