Description from Strava:
parkrun yesterday was draining in the heat, but today it is a little cooler and so I did my regular longer run. I was just not going to go too far. I really need to look at taking some water with me when it is warm.
I went up to Langford via the Henlow parkrun course and the other lakes. It was quite nice out there and I was doing the easy pace I have been trying over the last couple of months. I diverted into the little wood near Langford that is quite nice with lots of paths to explore. I also welcomed the shade.
On the way back I ran around the rest of the parkrun course. A muntjac deer was on the path and even when it went into the undergrowth it did not go far as had a look at me. They are still spreading bark chippings along the paths which are not great to run on, but I guess it gives a path that will last. They get quite a few other people passing through including the anglers.
Strava shows me going into heart zone 3, but my average rate was right at the top of zone 2. For comparison my finish at parkrun got into zone 6, which is labelled as anaerobic. You cannot sustain that for long, but it works for sprints.
We spent most of the day checking out the open gardens day in Letchworth. I will do a Hive post about that, but it was very interesting. There are some amazing houses and gardens there. I have clocked up 28000 steps today!
Run free and stay cool.
