Yes, when life gives you lemons in abundance, celebrate and make use of them.
The image below is a lemon tree that I gave to my son for his new home and it had a bit of a traumatic start as when he decided where it was to be planted, he hit a water pipe when digging the hole.
The poor small tree had already been taken out of the plastic nursery bag and was now dumped to one side with the roots exposed while the water pipe was seen to.
This as you can imagine caused a great deal of irritation to my son as he had to rush around buying pipes and fittings etc., and then digging up the soil to fix everything which took the rest of the day.
As a result of all of this, the lemon tree was eventually planted in a half wine barrel after lying exposed for about a week.
That was four years ago and the small tree proved to us all that it was made of stronger stuff and refused to die.
This year it is looking great and is simply laden with lemons and looks amazing.
It was planted into very fertile soil with lots of compost and fed with a slow release organic fertilizer as well as worm castings and worm tea and stands in a location where it gets sun for most of the day summer and winter.
