There was a time when I did not really like the taste of celery, but over the past few years I have changed my mind and eat it on a regular basis.
The health benefits are too many to list - suffice to say, your body will thank you.
Growing your own is so easy and the best thing is that pests seem to leave the plants alone, so it is ideal to interplant with other veggies.
Once planted, it will grow throughout the year and once cut, more stems appear.

When making soup, celery is a must as it adds a really nice flavour to all soups.
When making bolognaise, chop up some celery and carrots and saute together with garlic and onion until tender and only then add your mince and other ingredients - this is something that I learnt from a lady that came from Italy.
You will be amazed at the difference this makes to the sauce.
I also use this celery and carrot base for all casseroles.
The celery leaves also make an attractive garnish
