Oregano to my mind is such a wonderful herb to grow.
Apart from the fact that is very easy to grow, it has almost no pests that come near it and so can be a great herb to put between your veggies as the scent of the leaves seems to deter pests.
It can be grown from seed which is very fine, but it is so easy to grow from a cutting or by root division - just plant it in a well drained soil in a sunny spot and it will grow quickly.
It makes an excellent ground cover and looks especially nice in a container where it will cascade down.
Use the leaves fresh or dried in your favourite italian recipe, in soups, stews - infact any where you please.
Oregano is rich in vitamins and is also great for colds and flu.
Most health shops have the oregano oil which can be used in many different ways.
When it comes to cooking, I would rate it as one of my favourites along with basil, rosemary, thyme, corriander and parsley.
