Being a child automatically attracts kindness, love, and affection. It is quite hard to see a child that is in need or that would definitely appreciate the help and you ignore it. I loved it when I was a child, I do receive love and money here and there but this adulthood of a thing is quite exhilarating, the stress and responsibility that comes with adulthood is definitely not for me.
When I remember the sweetness and preferential treatment I received as a child, I always wish that kind of package would come along with adulthood. I remember how people would gift me money or anything, any time they came around. even though my mom collected them and promised to give them back which she never did, till date
I schooled far from home, it was three bus stops away from my house and it is important for me to enter at least one bus, and I can trek the rest. However, sometimes I would be given bike money for rest. Whenever I take food to school, I will be given only a transportation fee. Anyway, this was my routine and I have gotten used to it.
As I was saying, child and their benefits. There are many ways a child or junior student can be favored. Probably, if a student is stranded you might see help to school, if you beg them or let’s say the transportation fee increased due to some certain reason someone might help to complete it or even pay the fee completely. when there is bus scarcity, people will let the students enter.. and much more. Gosh, I miss those days!!
From all of these favors, I would have extra money with me to get something that I want. I am always happy when I see someone I know as they will surely pay me money.
On a fateful day, I saw one of my mom’s friends who normally pays my transportation fee, I was happy and I decided to use the transportation fee to get a particular snack rough buns that I love so much at the bus stop. I got the snack, greeted my mom’s friend, and boarded the bus.
As we moved, the conductor requested money, I was at the front, so he asked for mine first, I told him that I would pay later and that he should go on and collect from the rest of them, believing that the woman would pay my money. I was less worried about it, in fact, I had no doubt.
Funnily, the woman paid only her money, hehe, it was like I was dreaming, I kept praying that the woman would come back to her senses. The conductor came back to me and asked for my money, I was so scared, I didn’t want to be disgraced especially when my mom’s friend was there, she would probably tell my mom that I had spent the transport fee.
I stylishly started checking my bag, giving the woman time to realize that she hadn’t paid my money, haha. I kept searching between my books knowing fully well that the money was in my pocket. After a moment of searching, I concluded that she wasn’t going to pay my money.
I eventually paid using my t-fee meant for coming back home, reaching our bus stop I bade farewell to the woman as I felt like beating her up, lol. As I walked to school, I didn’t know how to express my emotions, I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry, I looked at the snack I bought something that can never fill my stomach and I started crying, I was eating it and I was crying and laughing, knowing fully well that I would trek home.
I couldn’t stand at the bus stop and start begging people, I hated it. I actually trekked home that day under the scorching sun. I never in my life did that again. From that day I started calling the snack, evil snack because it was so tempting to buy.
