So...I never was the broody type of gal until I had one of my own little babes; it was like seeing the world through new eyes!
As the only girl of five children, I was convinced I was going to have a daughter, but alas, it was not to be.
However, I'm a very proud mama of two beautiful boys young men; both total opposites as my older son is always calm and collected with his nose in his PC, but the younger one is restless and turns everything upside down; it's like a whirlwind hits the house when he's here!
They do have other common traits like integrity and empathy; the list goes on, but I think you get the drift; my boys are very special and mean everything to me, and to their Dad.
Our youngest had to deal with the loss of his best friend under tragic circumstances a couple of years ago. She was a beautiful girl, and both her Mom and I were hoping they'd get hitched, but it sadly was not to be!
That was the start of a downward spiral, ending in a two-year hiatus with some ups and downs, an adventure that took him to Russia, but he ended up back at his home base and was here for a long while.
He's back working in his old career line, found a very nice flat, and is ready and in a much better headspace to face the world and start afresh!
Hubby's laser surgery on his eye went very well yesterday, and he can see again, so will be taking the 7-hour trip up to Joburg where he'll spend a couple of days helping our son set up, as he has to focus on his new job, and Dad is retired after all!
Mom will be seeing to the guests in the BnB so cannot help with that part of the journey!
The car will be jam-packed with small appliances, linen, curtains, and his other belongings that has been in storage here; bulky furniture and appliances will be bought up there.
There are boxes and bags in the diningroom, the spare bedroom, and I just hope everything will fit in the car, but my hubby knows how to pack!
My feet are sore, my back is sore, I feel grubby and dusty and exhausted, but will move heaven and earth to help my children, as that is what Moms and Dads do, not so!
