Square Lentil & Corn Burger

No guessing after which city everyone’s favourite Friday takeout the Hamburger was named, but in which country this city is, remains a mystery!

The city's name of course is Hamburg, but there are two cities called Hamburg and both lay claim to being the very first to sell a Hamburger; Hamburg in Germany and Hamburg in New York, USA!

With all the Hamburger franchises spread out all over the world like Mc Donald's, Burger King and many more, I don’t think there’s anyone who has never eaten a Burger; or am I mistaken?

Traditionally a Hamburger consists of a patty made with ground meat, placed inside a bun and loaded with all kinds of:
Accompaniments

• Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, Onion, Pickles, Bacon, Pineapple, Egg…the list is endless!

Topped with

Condiments:

• Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Mustard, Relish, Thousand Island Dressing, Burger Sauce…etc…etc.

Served with:
Potato Chips

Loaded with carbs, but who cares as it's Friday night!

This was a traditional Beef Burger with a Blue Cheese Sauce that I made a long while back for @jaybird's Sandwich Contest on the good old, bad new, Steemit.

However...for today's @qurator's Hive Top Chef! | Hamburgers! I’ll be making a different kind of Burger.
This one is Ovo-Vegetarian and I'm sure some of our star Vegan Chefs will know how to turn it into a Vegan version.

@lizelle however was in a hurry, as always, so didn't want to take a chance as this patty may just have fallen apart without eggs from Mother Hen.

I further chose brown Bread Squares rather than regular burger buns; can you see me biting into that massive Beef Burger above?

Square Lentil & Corn Burger

Ingredients:

Mix together:

• 1 1/2 cups cooked Red Lentils
• 1 cup cooked Brown lentils
• 1/2 cup Corn
• 1/2 cup grated Carrots
• Spring Onions diced
• Fresh Coriander leaves diced
• Handful of Kale Leaves diced
  

Add & mix:

• 3 beaten Eggs

Lastly add:

• 1 cup Self-Raising Flour
• 1 tsp each: ground Cumin, Coriander & Salt

Place spoonsful in shallow oil & fry on both sides - I used a mold to get a nice round patty.

Building my Square Burger:

• Brown Bread Square
• Lentil & Corn Patty
• Pickled, Raw or Caramelized Onions
• Mayonnaise
• Fresh Tomato Slices
• Fresh Coriander leaves
• Lettuce
