¿Son las enfermedades mentales realmente una moda?|| Are mental illnesses really a current fad?
Sometimes when a person asks me: What is depression or anxiety? I prefer to tell them a textual quote taken from some psychology or psychiatry book, just to avoid delving into what really represents the "famous" emotional illnesses, unless, of course, they are really interested in learning and ready to hear the truth about their "fame".

And yes! I talk about fame, because it is a bit, let's see...how can I say it...strange or bizarre? as nowadays they consider emotional illnesses "a fad"...however, after some time analyzing the meaning, and if we think clearly about what a fad is...let's remember something from mathematics...wasn't the fad, the number that was repeated most often in a set of numbers? The most frequent quantity, figure or unit in a set of numbers? Well, yes!
Society speaks of fashions as something repetitive, generally good, associated to beauty, to the beautiful, to the positive; but what happens when the most repeated factor is not something positive, nor beautiful, nor beautiful? Could this be the case? Sadly, from my perspective, we must accept that we are facing a fashion! but...don't get me wrong! it is a fashion with the most negative connotation we can find.
Now, what happens when that fashion does not happen, like handbags, wallets, clothes or shoes that disappear in time? what happens when we cannot make that negative number that repeats itself over and over again disappear?

I used to think, when I started suffering from Anxiety and depression, that there would come a day when it would be easier to treat these diseases, that just as science advances in other diseases, there would also be an advance in these diseases, then, at some point in history, they would be easier to treat, and if everything went as planned, eventually disappear...ha! how naive I was.
In my most human, simplistic, hopeful and innocent side, I did not think about it, I did not remember that the human being is the only animal capable of stumbling over and over again with the same stone, indeed, he is capable of building the same stone to stumble over it again, and even of building others like it to make the road more difficult for others, causing others to fall just like him.
We have been decades, over decades with diseases of this type, and the human being, as I innocently thought, instead of learning about them and trying to eliminate the stone of the road either: trying to avoid them, taking them out of the way, molding them or giving them some utility; On the contrary, they have been in charge with all the effort of the world, in proliferating in generations after generations psychological damages in their children, in their partners, in their brothers, in their neighbors, in their friends, in their acquaintances, etc...
Thus, through this arduous individual and joint effort, we have reached the point where we currently have the greatest boom of these diseases, becoming, without any fear of being wrong, the biggest epidemic that no one talks about. The "fashion" of the emotionals diseases.
