Thanks to the kindness of Mr. Galen, this weekend I will venture into extreme temperatures, I have never before exposed this physical body to so many degrees Celsius below zero. Among the options to choose from, at first I was tempted to get into a kayak and go on an expedition on the Adriatic, but I immediately imagined how many times I could fall into the water and I gave up.
Going back to my choice, I would like to tell you that I have not had the privilege to meet and roll in the snow, I want to play like a child and start a war throwing balls, lie on it and make angels, look for the right place to light a fire, roast marshmallows and get the best of the moment. This is one of the reasons for my choice in this engagement. In addition, in a night of television programs accompanied by my husband we entered the world traveler's world, the chosen destination was Lapland, Finland, there I was enraptured.
Having received the tourist package courtesy of Mr. Galen, my travel log would begin at the International Airport of Maiquetía Simón Bolívar, Venezuela. Upon arrival at my destination, the hotel protocol would welcome me, after leaving my luggage in the room, I would have time to take a look around, take some pictures and even taste its gastronomy. I would go to bed early so I would have enough energy for the weekend adventure.
The first exciting activity and main reason for the trip would be to go Husky trekking in the Arctic Circle. With the appropriate clothing for the region, I would wait for the van that would pick me up at the hotel, upon arrival at the cabin and departure point of the tour, we would be introduced to the people in charge of the activity. Some beautiful, woolly and charismatic Siberian Husky breed dogs, additional would take us to meet the puppies and future sled pullers, they would detail their upbringing and lifestyle of all in general.
After familiarizing ourselves with the dogs and photographing the moment, we would take place to start the experience, a sled ride pulled by the Huskies between snowy forests and enjoying the best views of the place. The trainers would make them go fast to increase the adrenaline and then slow down.
It would be part of the experience to be the one to direct the dogs and give the instructions to tow the sled. Halfway through the ride, a break for the shooters would do them good. At the same time, between laughs and stories, we would enjoy hot drinks such as chocolate, coffee and tea to maintain body temperature. Back on the trails the Huskies would take over, at the end of the tour they would please us again pampering those bright-eyed living stuffed animals.
Visiting Santa Claus' house, watching the Northern Lights and visiting an ice hotel would be part of the complementary activities of my trip to Finland.
P.S.: I grew up seeing a Siberian Husky daily, a neighbor of the urbanization enjoyed having one as a pet and walked him daily through the streets, with his imposing blue eyes and a combination in the color of his coat between gray, white and black, this charming animal was petted by everyone, he was the spoiled of the block. We called him "lobito" out of affection. He lived happily, with the best care that a human can provide. Years ago he went to the heaven of dogs.
