What Age?

Many times I have imagined going back in time to change certain aspects of my life. I will start by commenting that when I was 34 years old I realized or accepted that I no longer loved my husband (the love from my part was over and he was very responsible), in that difficult moment I took refuge in a friend, she knew every detail of my personal life and I felt free to express what I wanted.

Among my thoughts and desires was to go back in time to the year I met my first husband and avoid that fact in order not to marry him, the disappointment and pain were great. But my good friend made me understand that if I had not married him, I would not have my wonderful daughter, I remember telling her that she would have been born from a different father and my friend again made me understand that she would not be the same child. That was when I discarded the idea of going back so many years.

Now, to answer the question I would like to be 40 years old, yes, I would only go back 5 years. And why that age? Because that's when I made decisions to change my financial future and achieve financial freedom. Perhaps some hasty decisions and some wrong ones that instead of advancing my plans, have postponed them.

At that time, Venezuelans were living a hyper inflation that led many to emigrate in a desperate and irresponsible way, without thinking about the consequences. I was about to be part of the statistics, I started the legal procedures but without haste. After much discussion with my husband we made the decision to stay and reinvest in finances, the potential and the desire were there.

It is there when we started to evaluate investment strategies, selling a property to multiply the money was an option and so we did. The problem was that we were not yet ready to enter the investment world, we still had a lot to learn and the need to make money made us lose.

We thought that my husband's and my own agility with numbers would lead us to succeed quickly, however we made mistakes, we invested with the wrong people, we fell into unnecessary expenses, we lost time and money.

Today, I am constantly learning, I attend conferences, workshops, online classes, I surround myself with people with the same interests as me. I manage money better, I know the financial products, the decisions I make are better, I am clear about my goals, I am more constant, I am changing habits and strategies.

If I had started with my financial education to then practice investments, my reality would be different, that is why I would like to be 40 years old, but with today's knowledge and experience, I want to stop worrying about money.

Slow or fast?

At the end of 2011 I made the decision to divorce my first husband and father of my daughter, I knew it would bring consequences but in the end it would be worth it because my peace of mind was at stake. The year 2012 was very hard emotionally, my daughter suffered a lot because of the separation, her dad made it harder because he tried to manipulate her and manipulate me to change my mind. We spent days of much crying, anguish, fear, uncertainty and seeing my daughter like that broke my heart.

At that moment (year 2012) I wished that time would fly to pass the suffering as fast as possible, it was inevitable, but I longed for it to end once and for all. My greatest pain was to see my daughter pay the consequences of her parents' mistakes. Everything described above made me want to move time faster, as they say, time heals wounds.

That's all for today my dear fellow hive members, so I end my participation in the weekend engagement # 101 WE, if you want to know all the topics here is the link to the publication
