The human experience is certainly one of a narrowed awareness. Infinitely complex and impossible to quantify, the matrices of every moment easily can leave one in an ineffable state of bewilderment; a fractal of a microcosm within a macrocosm and vice versa. Due to our limited awareness this leaves us in a state of a trance as this experience unfolds. Being in a trance is nearly synonymous to meditation because of this narrowed state of awareness; and just like a fractal, the farther one goes in, the bigger it gets.
The countless benefits of meditation are now ubiquitously known throughout scientific and spiritual schools of thought. Even a simple awareness or consciousness whether physical, mental, or spiritual can have great benevolent impact in ones life. Particularly, acceptance through meditation while navigating the internal and external forces of being alive has allowed myself to flow through life with much greater ease and weightlessness as if I am hovering from one moment to the next when employing techniques of an accepting, meditative awareness. Anger, anxiety, depression, et cetera all still come and go; although with acceptance it's as if I can walk right through them.
As euphoric, ecstatic, terrifying, laborious, gentle, and strong as life can be; as can meditation. Simply being alive can be a technique for meditation, and following one's breath or watching thoughts until they disappear and transcend is nearly a technique within a technique. My first formal technique was a walking meditation. In the redwood forest of Northern California I found following the awareness of the feeling of my feet being grounded onto the forest floor ignited a consciousness that granted a transcendental ecstasy embracing the power of now. Even to this day, I find the 3 simple words: "Be Here Now" extraordinarily transformative through this journey.
"When your clothes are comfortable, you don't feel them." When meditation is life, life is a meditation. Thank You for reading Steemians!
