I have always felt an intimate connection with the sea. But I wasn't so aware of it before the last two years. I didn't know how much everything related to the ocean theme was capable of causing me emotionally.
I lost my best friend two summers ago, after an eleven-year relationship, and since then I feel that my connection to the sea has become deep and sometimes even disturbing. I scattered his ashes between the coast and the mountains, luckily, my city has both natural treasures in abundance. We were always a perfect combination of mountains and sea. In honor of that I tattooed the inside of both wrists on my hands.
In this time that has elapsed I have written several works, among them a book of poetry that I am still working on, calmly, cautiously and with great respect, because it is a genre that I profess great admiration for and that I have always felt has a different type of management. precise, more detailed, with more pulse I would say. The text that I bring to share with you is from that book, it is the second poem of the first part of the book called Lighthouses. The notebook is divided into two parts, the first is called that way and the second Woman of salt, which makes up the full title of the book Woman of salt under the lighthouse.

The lighthouse that inhabits me has mutated light.
The tower is gigantic in a plaintive sky
and accumulates dreams of a pale gray.
Today my hands are not hands
nor my arms the balance of a bridge.
My hands are the double track of a highway
And if I'm late, the sea will be left over to swallow the bottom.
