Hello, friends of Holos & Lotus! I hope your week has started filled with lots of love and blessings. I wish with all my heart that you have enjoyed lovely and pleasant moments with your family and that you had a very special Father's Day.
Today, I want to share a post that is a bit different from what I usually share with you, but it is super, super cool! Everything started with a single word that kept spinning in my mind. It is the word "cave." I realized that it is a term we use often, but it has so many perspectives and ways of being understood that I couldn't stop writing about it. Today, I want to explore with you the duality that this word holds; I hope this reflection is very useful to you and, above all, that you enjoy the reading very much.

The word "cave" has always seemed like a concept of contrasts to me. For some, it is a space of shadows; for others, a zone of shelter where time seems to stand still. In my life, the cave has been a territory where I have felt both protected and defeated.
In moments of excessive noise —when university, work, and others' expectations press in—, the cave is my refuge. It is where I retreat to hear my inner voice again. Here, silence is not emptiness; it is opportunity. It is in this room, physical or mental, where my ideas take shape, where my drawings find color, and where my spirit finds the freshness needed to keep going. It is also my meeting place with God; here, I find the space to pray, to open the Bible, and to let His words guide my steps. It is my shelter to review my life, to weigh my actions, and to raise my words of gratitude to God for every lesson learned. Here, the cave is my armor.
But there is a dark side. There are days when the cave stops being a place of passage and becomes my abyss. When I stay too long, introspection turns into isolation, and rest becomes inaction. In this cave, the silence begins to whisper doubts, and the refuge transforms into a cell where perfectionism and the fear of failure defeat me. Here, the refuge becomes defeat: the defeat of not daring to go out and face the light, even when the sun burns. It is the danger of turning my shelter into a hiding place where fear, and not my faith or my purpose, takes control.
[I have learned that the cave is not a destination; it is a process. I need to enter to be strong, but my real victory happens when I manage to step out. My cave today is just a necessary stop, not my permanent home.]
Me encantaría leer tu experiencia.
[And you? Have you ever felt that your refuge was turning into your abyss? I would love to read your experience.]
