It was one of the most enjoyable journeys of my life. It was a 9-day travel into the world of wildlife, pristine beauty and quiet joy.
Honestly, I went before that for ten years. My acquaintances organize kayak rafting every year. Several times I wanted to join, but for various reasons it did not work. And in the summer of 2019, the dream came true.
Одна з найприємніших подорожей у моєму житті. 9-ти денна мандрівка у світ дикої природи, первозданної краси і тихої радості.
Чесно кажучи, я йшла до цього десять років. Мої знайомі щороку організовують сплав на байдарках. Кілька разів я хотіла приєднатися, але з різних причин не виходило. І ось влітку 2019 мрія здійснилась.
We took a train across all of Ukraine, from the Lviv region to Sumy (about 800 km) to get to the Seym River, a tributary of the Desna. There were several reasons why we chose this river. First, the river should be shallow and flat, without insidious stones, because we traveled with children and a dog. Secondly, we wanted to visit a landscape park, where there are no big cities and civilization in general. Unfortunately, in my region (that is in Western Ukraine) the rivers are much dirtier than the Seym.
Ми вирушили на поїзді через усю Україну, із Львівської області у Сумську, щоб добратися до ріки Сейм, притоки Десни. Було кілька причин, чому обрали саме цю ріку. По-перше ріка мала бути мілкою і рівнинною, без підступних каменів, бо ми мандрували з дітьми і собакою. По-друге хотілося побувати у ландшафтному парку, де немає по дорозі великих міст і взагалі цивілізації. На жаль у моєму регіоні ріки значно брудніші, ніж Сейм.
The company consisted of 4 kayaks. The organizers lent me and my friend a rather old kayak, which we put together ourselves, of course under the direction of Taras, our leader. A very interesting process, albeit a time consuming process. In disassembled form, this boat looks like a skeleton of a fossil animal!!!
Компанія складалась із 4-х байдарок. Мені і моєму другові організатори позичили досить стареньку байдарку, яку ми самі складали, звісно під керуванням Тараса, нашого керівника. Дуже цікавий процес, хоч і трудомісткий процес. У розібраному вигляді цей човен схожий на скелет викопного звіра!!!
Since the company of 13 people had children and beginners (like me), as well as a dog Oscar (breed African Richback), we took an unsportsmanlike pace. One day we swam, and the next day we rested (swimming in the river, sunbathing, cooking on the fire).
I was so impressed by the beauty of nature that I will divide the photos into several posts, and I will tell you some interesting things.
Оскільки у компанії з 13 людей були і діти, і новачки (як я), і навіть пес породи африканський річбек, то темп ми взяли неспортивний. Один день пливли, а наступний день відпочивали (купались у ріці, засмагали, варили їсти на вогні).
Мене настільки вразила краса природи, що світлини я поділю на кілька постів, а при нагоді розповім якісь цікавинки.
So, the beginning was not far from the town of Konotop, near the village of Khyzhky. We arrived there in a rented minibus at dawn, when there was a thick fog. Beautiful, but cold:) The first impression of the river was wrong, it seemed like a puddle. That day we rested, put together our kayaks and set out for the trip. There was time for a short walk along the high bank of the Seym. And here I saw the incredible beauty of the river and fell in love with these places forever.
Отож, початок був неподалік від міста Конотоп, біля хутора Хижки. Ми приїхали туди найнятим мікроавтобусом на світанку, коли стояв густий туман. Красиво, але холодно:) Перше враження про ріку було помилковим, здалося, що це якась калюжа. В той день ми відпочивали, збирали байдарки і налаштовувались на подорож. Був час і на маленьку прогулянку вздовж високого берега Сейму. І тут я побачила неймовірну красу ріки і назавжди закохалася у ці місця.
